What does @DannyCarlton think?

IMO their country, up to them.

They give Thai people retirement visa? 50+ year old and 20,000 UK dollar?

I voted to remain. I think that the policy will have racist undertones when introduced so no I don't agree with it. They give Thai people full citizenship after a period of time which entitles them to free education, free healthcare and a pension far in excess of 600 baht/month. They are treated no differently to any other British citizen. A vast difference to a Brit retiring to Thailand and living here for many years.

I certainly do not wish Old Blighty to implode but alas, I fear you are all doomed by the Brexit madness.

But let us see how it plays out over the next year.

Time will soon tell

Why? As a fellow ???????? there's no need.

53% of Scots pay lower taxes than they would if they lived and earned the same in the rest of the UK. Why are the Nasty Party so uncaring towards hardworking blue collar people? Why do they protect the rich and hammer the poor?

And undercutting the wages of British workers

EU nationals working in the UK can apply for 'settled status' in order to remain. Are you of the opinion their wages will increase or stay competitive in comparison to UK nationals.

Great. This is what we voted for.

Get the EU job grabbers out and UK yoof off the benefits and into jobs.

The remaining UK skilled tradesmen will also be put back into it, no longer being undercut by the cheap imports.

The government will have to backtrack.

A quote from the enclosed article-

''With already low unemployment, firms in care, construction, hospitality, food and drink could be most affected."
Adam Williams, a partner at London law firm DMH Stallard, said that "many organizations will be understandably concerned." With the unemployment rate at 3.8%, he said "it is hard to see how the domestic labor work force can bridge the skills gap."

Very good question. Maybe they are lacking in the empathy dept.

At any rate, as said in Yorkshire,

interesting bit is that Cons attracts heaps and heaps of votes from blue collars and other

salary workers.

Not only in UK but also in a bunch of other countries in Europe.

A blue wind is blowing over Europe for the time being.

You have actually raised a better question - why do so many working class people vote for the tories time and again? Johnson, Mogg, the rest, they couldn't give two figs about any of them, yet our pliant and willing countrymen still can be relied upon to tug the forelock, bow the head and keep these individuals in power.

Obviously you don't understand. Get over it. Embrace it and stop whining like you are constantly like a broken record. If you are a Brit support your country, if not well that explains a lot.

Thank you for another irrelevant post. What has all this to do with the topic I discussed, which was about benefits for UK nationals?

It looks like the broken record is not me.

The Nasty Party's Scottish branch office is in a bit of a bind, with practically everyone in Scotland pointing out that these rules will have a detrimental impact on the Scottish economy - something the Scottish government (and even, in the early days, some of the weasel, subsequent turncoat Scottish Tory politicians) have been saying all along.

Scottish Tories urge rethink over points-based immigration

"The Scottish Tory leader, Jackson Carlaw, plans to lobby Boris Johnson over complaints that Home Office plans for a points-based immigration system could damage Scotland’s economy.

“We made a specific promise that we need a migration system appropriate to Scotland’s needs and our demographics and economy, and Scottish Conservatives remain committed to that."

Carlaw’s intervention follows a furious backlash from Scottish businesses to Patel’s proposals, particularly in industries like social care, tourism, fishing and farming."
