PNadine
Hello. My Burmese helper us here legally with a work permit sponsored by her previous employer who was here with a work visa and has since moved out of Thailand. I am in Thailand in a retirement visa. Would I be able to sponsor her? Thank you.
khunPer
Presume you by "helper" mean domestic staff. Workers from neighboring countries can get 2-year work permits. We – my Thai girlfriend and I – had a Lao maid for several years. First step was to be approved for having a foreign worker. Second step was that we used an agent recommended by the work permit office. The agent took care of everything, including transport to health check for the worker. It's a couple of years ago we had the last work permit issued, but at that time we paid 10,000 baht all included for the service; in my opinion fully worth the money. I think we applied for approval for a foreign domestic helper at the tessaban office, but the one-stop work permit department at the the amphor office should be able to advise you. Iron Tongue
What agency helped her the first time? I would imagine they'd be the best place to go.
PNadine
Thank you very much for your information. I don’t know who helped her the first time but I will send her there anyway. A
