Just a few clarifications to the above posts

1. Yes, we sell by the slice in the shop @ 60 baht

2. Yes, we throw away any slices left in the display after about 3 hours. (You dont get that same buzz if they are older)

3. We have started delivery ( not running smooth as we would like yet, but we will get there)

4. Our Partner is 2nd generation New York Italian - the pizza (award winner in our shops Shanghai) is as authentic as it gets.

5. Yes, will expand down Sukhumvit / Silom & hope to be in Pattaya in 6 months or so.

Any questions, pls mail / IM us.

rgds.

I gave it one shot... so far, nothing good to report, but it was delivery. I'll try once more and hope it was a bad day

Not that anyone reading this will get there but.....let me tell you of a place in Grand Haven, Michigan U.S.A. It's called, "Fricanos". It's in a dumply old wood structure building that's been there forever. I do not exaggerate when I say people from all over the U.S. travel out of their way just eat there. The pizza has a distinct flavor and texture in which I've never seen close to being duplicated anywhere. If by chance you happen to get any place close to this place, just ask someone where it....they'll know!

Looks good. Don't ask them what kind of cheese they use, because they won't tell you! Gotta love it.

Second worst would be in Cambodia.

You obviously didn't try 'Happy Pizza' by the river. There's one you don't forget in a hurry :o

"Happy Pizza" :D is the best kind of pizza exclusively cambodian too

LOL

I was in Cambodia in '94 and some folks took me out to a place that served .. um .. I would characterize it as a "French bread pizza." Outstanding!

Mmmm Pizza!

Now we are talking here.

My favorite food.

No kidding, but I have had pizza in about 45 different countries.

I eat pizza 3 times a week.

I can eat pizza on christmas eve.

In my opinion the best pizzas I have had was in Scandinavia and USA.

I can only talk about the pizzas with several toppings as do not like the Italian style one-man-pizza which is too thin and hardly any toppings on.

As for American food in general, I think the food there is great. Normally big portions and a huge variety.

Best food I had there was in San Diego.

Best Pizza in USA was in Boston.

Best pizza ever tasted was a night club in the SAS Hotel in Tromsoe, Norway.

I will definitely try the places you guys have recommended here in BKK.

Thnx a lot

Sailor

Try Sweden and you will definitely find the best pizzas around. Really there is not even any competition as far as I know. Can´t really figure why the immigrants from Turkey and so on makes so lovely pizza in sweden,

Have tried it, as Sweden is in Scandinavia.

By accident I ended on a small pizza restaurant near the Emporium. Unexpectedly I ate there one of the best pizza I have ever tasted...and in Bangkok (note that I have lived in Melbourne, Milan and Bangkok...so I think I have an idea about good and bad pizza).

A week later I come back to check whether it was only an accident; but it was not.

I had the chance to talk with the american owner and among others things he mentioned to me that Thais simply do not like real pizza, reason why it is so hard to keep a western kitchen with no "compromises".

The restaurant is named Bangkok Pizza (the name is a little bit scary I Think) and it is in Sukhumvit 26/1, a small soi near the BTS station. They also deliver. It worth the try.

(I promised to the owner that I would recommend his pizza...and there you are :o )

We went looking for this Pizza shop but could not find it. An established book store near by was as confused as us and didn't know where Soi 26/1 was. We certainly did not find it. Is there more information on it's location or ph #????

Thanks,

I've been in a pizzeria called Pizza lumpini @ Lumpini ville sukhumvit 77 is one of the best home made pizza & pasta dishes in Bangkok. They have a website also complete with infos and menu. Price are very reasonable especially comparing to the quality delivered.

I know that I have posted before in this forum but somehow it doesn't seem to be here anywhere? Anyway with regard to Pizza Lumpini, I would have to agree with Lipp. I live in the complex (lumpini view) and eat at the restaurant quite often. The place is run by Armando and Domenica a couple of really nice Italian guys. The pizzas are very good but what really makes the restaurant stand out is the excellent a la carte menu of authentic Italian dishes. Prices are very reasonable, your hosts are pleasant and often will give you glasses of Limincello for free after you have paid your cheque. They are also quite good musicians in their own right and if they are in the mood the place takes on a real party atmosphere. When they are not playing their guitars the music played on the stereo is always excellent.

Give it a try if you are out that way!!

Thanks,

I think he's referring to Bangkok Pizza which is on Soi 24/1. Somebody else in this thread mentioned that they may have closed so you should call them first if you plan on going. I've had their pizza a couple of times, and it's okay, but nothing like NY style pizza. I don't know how anyone could even say that. I like the pizza at Absolute Bar better, and it's closer to NY style than this place. Still want to try NYSP on Thong Lor.

For me Bella Napoli on soi 31 is very very good when it comes to pizzas.

However, last Sat night, the mrs and I paid a visit at 8ish. It was the usual busy evening but no problem getting a table.

Normally, the service can be a bit slow at times but it was over the top this time.

I ordered Oso Buco and the mrs the parma ham pizza. My order arrived in 15 mins or so. We sat there thinking the pizza would be along soon as well. Wrong.

So the mrs and I tucked into the Oso Buco and by that point it was 30 odd mins since placing the original order. Another beer later and its now 9pm and no sign of the pizza, even my queries to the service girl were met with 'it's coming soon'.

9:15 pm and I have had enough, check bin and left.

Now I understand it can get busy and sometimes orders can be delayed but for <deleted>*k sake, 1 hour and 15 mins (meanwhile I see other pizzas coming and going since I ordered) and not a word from the manager who walked around pretending to be actually doing something besides kissing the ass of pooyai's and the ilk.

Good pizzas (if I remember), but lousy lousy service. Never going back.

Totally disagree. Piazza Mania claims they deliver for free. At the second order they want a 50 THB delivery charge. Rip off, especially if you look at their prices.
Pizzanotti also has excellant delivery pizzas - Pizza Mania are great too!

On top of that, their pizzas are <deleted>.. :o

If you think Scoozi pizzas are good then I suggest you try Amici inside Paragon. Same price but in a different taste league. Amici is on the ground floor very near Vanilla restaurant.

I've tried to find a good pizza in Bangkok for years (tried many of the "authentic" Italian restaurants. Amici has come out tops.

Try Ronny's Pizza on Soi #4 Great pizza. it is owned by a Dutch guy and a Canadian guy but they do American pizza.

There is no connection between Ronny's Pizza and real pizza, the stuff is absolutely dire and bears no resemblance to true American pizza other than it is a similar shape.

If you know that one Jingthing then you'll also know Buddy's and Shields, legendary stuff. And not to digress but how's about the Reuben in the now closed Buhl Bar?
