TM 28 has been scrapped.

Recommended Posts

It was reported that the TM 28 has been scrapped.

This TM 28 is very similar to TM 30 - so it seems.

My question is this. What happens to TM 30 ?

My wife and I (both on retirement) stays in the same condo.

Is it true that every time we leave the country, we still have

to do the TM 30 - when we come back ?

The question is this. Have we got to do the TM 30 every time we

leave the country or other Thai provinces when we return ?

In other words, the TM 30 is still a must ? Because the TM 28 looks similar.

Your kind advice is much appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance.

Just PM-ed you a step-by-step instruction on how to register on the IO T30 website and subsequently file your TM30s on-line.  Registering and filing your 1st TM30 will take approx 30' (if you know how to do it) and subsequent ones will take less than 2'.  Easy-peasy.

To access your PM-messages just click the letter-icon next to your Profile when logged in to the Forum.

Hi Madmen,

According to thai law, the 'owner/possessor' of a property is required to file a TM30 withing 24 hours of a foreigner arriving at the property.

The property can be a hotel, guesthouse, rental condo, friend's house, own place, etc.

Note: TM30 compliance is ONLY checked when you visit your local IO for a service that requires your address data (e.g. an extension of stay, residence permit, etc.).  So when you have guests staying at your place that will not visit the Immigration Office to apply for an extension of stay, there is no real need to file a TM30 of them staying at your place, as it will not be checked.

Also in case your IO does enforce TM30 compliance (many don't care about it, or only require it when returning from a trip abroad), they will ONLY be interested whether a current TM30 has been filed from the place where you are staying, and don't care about the history of your TM30 filings.

Attached below you will find a comprehensive step-by-step instruction on how to register and file your TM30s on-line.

Here is the link to the website > https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/menu.jsp

And here is the link to actually register: https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/FilterNoLogonServlet?nodeId=24&programId=FNHOTELREG

For registering: Apart from filling in the required data to register the condo, you can

1. register on behalf of the owner > In that case you need to upload a scan of the house-book and a signed front-back copy of the owner's ID-card.

>> Note: You can of course put your own e-mail address, as it is YOU who will be using the site to post your own TM30s (or those of foreigners staying at your condo)

2. register as tenant > in that case a copy of the rental contract, a copy of your passport ID-page and (if possible) a copy of the house-book, can also be used.

Then submit that info.

After having uploaded the info, you will receive on the e-mail address that you have entered on the application, a message that you need the confirm that it is indeed from that e-mail address that you are doing the application.  Just click Yes to confirm.

Then you will receive a new e-mail that will state that your application is received and in process.

And after approval you will then receive an e-mail with a username:password, that will allow you to access the site as a registered user, and file TM30s.

Before actually doing that, it is also required to change the password that has been given to you, so use an easy to remember password.

The whole process from submitting your application till receipt of the username:password takes something between 5 minutes and 5 workdays.

Note: When you do not receive your username:password within that period, there is probably something wrong with the data you provided.  You will not be contacted to inform you of that, so then it's up to you to re-do the application.

As soon as you have the username:password you can enter the TM30 website [ https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/menu.jsp] and file your TM30.

Filling in and then filing the TM30 report online is simple.  No need to upload any documents, you only need to provide the info as rendered on the screenshot attached.

Some data are obvious like name of the person staying, sex, birth-date, nationality, passport-number, issue and validity date.

For Nationality, Type of Visa, Point of Entry and Relation, there are pop-up tabs foreseen on the Excel-sheet (see further) so that you can choose the correct entry.

Also the number of the TM6 (the small paper you need to fill in and keep when entering Thailand) needs to be filled in.  Date you arrived at the place you are now staying also has to be filled in, but you can leave the 'check-out' date blank if you do not know when you will be leaving.  That's all.

On the website you can also download a TM30 Excel-file (for your convenience I have attached it with this message), and it's just a matter of filling the above data in on that Excel-file, which can then be uploaded on the TM30 website, where they will appear at the bottom (scroll down).

Trying to fill in the data directly in the fields and then save, makes the data disappear and you will be confused whether it has been accepted or not.  So better use the handy TM30 Excel-sheet, which has the big advantage that you can simply keep a copy of that filled-in TM30 Excel-sheet, and next time you do not need to fill in everything again but only what has changed.

After a domestic trip, simply re-upload the TM30 Excel-file and it will be filed as arriving from date of upload.  After returning from a trip abroad you will have a new TM-6 with different number, so that should be updated on the Excel-file before submitting.  As well as the entry-port if that is a different one than the previous entry.

When the first TM30 has been filed using the Excel-sheet, any subsequent stays will take less than a minute to upload.

Note: Some of the data to be filled in, need to use the thai date-notation (2562 AD), and don't make use of Google thai-translator, but copy/paste the thai 'relation' data.

After clicking SAVE at the top right corner, the data will be submitted straight into the IO TM30 database.  And you will be left with a blank screen.

To check whether the TM30 data you uploaded have really been filed, simply open the website again, and on the left-hand page click on the 2nd directory and select Search TM30.

Enter your username (when it does not appear automatically) and then fill in the search-period for your TM30.  The dates need to be max 7 days apart and be in thai date-notation.

Your uploaded TM30 will appear and you can take a screenshot.

I had to find out all of the above by trial-and-error, but with the above guidance it should take you in total approx half hour to register, and file your first TM30.  After that: piece of cake to submit subsequent TM30's.

If things are not clear or you run into problems, do not hesitate to contact me.

Success!

Peter
