webfact
Teachers, students, parents who travelled to six countries urged to stay at home for 14 days By The Nation Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan said on Sunday (February 23) that the ministry has asked teachers and students who had travelled to six countries -- China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore -- to stay at home for 14 days. The measure is in line with the Public Health Ministry’s guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus, he said. Parents of students who travelled to those six countries should also stay at home in order to make sure that they were not infected by the coronavirus, he said. The number of virus cases in Thailand remains at 35, while Japan and South Korea recently experienced a spike in infected patients. Experts earlier believed that the virus could be transmitted to other people even though those infected may not have fallen ill yet, as the coronavirus incubation takes 14 days before making people ill. Recently, however, scientists studying virus cases in China said that the virus incubation period could be longer than 14 days. Popular Post Mung
So nearly 2 months into this situation, and they have finally suggested something worthwhile. But what about the Chinese tourists that are coming in daily, do they need to self isolate? It seems pretty contradictory to ask a small portion of Thai citizens to self isolate, when thousands of Chinese people and other 'hot spot' nationals are entering on a daily basis. 58 9

Popular Post AussieBob18
One day the human population will realise and accept that the only way to stop pandemics like this one, and the others that will follow, is to do 2 things. 1. Seek out and eradicate the sources - in this case being a specific species of bats. 2. Once a global pandemic is declared, immediately cease all human travel - all planes, ships, etc. Years ago there was a good movie about it all - 12 Monkeys. Some nutter in a research laboratory decided mankind needed to end and so he travelled around the world from airport to airport releasing an airborne virus that killed most humans. The pathway that will lead to mankind's destruction is clear and obvious - emotions and stupidity. I can travel all over the world on airplanes spreading a deadly virus, but I cannot take a pair of nail clippers on any of those planes. 2 1

Popular Post wensiensheng
If I read it correctly, teachers, parents or children who visited 6 particular countries are being asked to self quarantine on their return. If your occupation is not teaching, you have no children and you are not a child, you can visit those countries and not need to self quarantine on your return. And if you are a national of those countries, or any other country for that matter, you do not need to self quarantine when visiting Thailand from those countries. is anyone else seeing a hole in Thailand’s Covid defences? sensible? I think not. Edited February 24, 2020 by wensiensheng 5
