Thomastm
Hi, I've been searching for information about insurance for people working and living in Thailand. But all I can find is mandatory insurance info for retirees, which I am not. I am 28 and working as a teacher. Any cheap and affordable cover for someone my age? I have been to a private clinic 2 times so far and it has cost me almost 2000 baht each visit (which they load me up with multiple types of medicine lol). So I worry how much it may cost if I get hospitalized for whatever reason. Thanks in advance.
Sheryl
At your age there are many choices. Best to work through a broker. AA is good and soecialize in expat policies. www.aainsure.net
OneMoreFarang
If you are employed you should be covered by the Thai health insurance like all other employees. It's far away from perfect but a lot better than nothing, especially in an emergency.

OP if employed anywhere but a private school you should be enrolled in Thai Social Security with month;y deductions ( usually 400 - 600 baht I think) from your paycheck for it. If so, ask your employer what hospital you are registered at. Under SS, everything is paid for (including outpatient) but it has to be at one selected hospital. Usually there is some choice as to which one - do not let your employer decide for you.
