shy coconut Posted February 26, 2020 Share Posted February 26, 2020 I've only spent a couple of days in Pattaya during Songkran and had a great time. I can understand how someone who lives there year round could find the long celebration annoying, that's fair enough. As for the dangers of getting sploshed with cold dirty water, or that white pasty stuff you get smeared with, I have survived so far, although most Songkran periods I've experienced have been up in rural Ubon where the water must be a lot cleaner. I do have a fairly good constitution as in all my time in Thailand I've only had one bout of illness and that was down to foolishly eating raw oysters and regretting it almost immediately and for the next couple of days.
