Two Chiang Mai shopping centres, Maya Lifestyle and Kad Suan Kaew, have cancelled events planned for next month’s Songkran festival due to the Covid-19 situation.

Maya’s managers posted on Facebook on Monday (March 9) that “Splash Party 2020” had been called off in the interest of curtailing the virus’ spread.

Kad Suan Kaew cited the same reason in jettisoning plans for “Muan Kan Na Kad 2020”, which was scheduled for April 13-15.

“We thank everyone for participating every year,” its managers said. “Take care of yourselves and everything will improve. Next year we will have fun [muan kan] again.”

All of the doubt regarding Songkran should be clarified by the Government, every responsible person knows this waste of water is not only something Thailand cannot currently afford but has the potential to spread the Corona Virus is real and therefore should be not only cancelled but prohibited this year so everyone knows where they stand.

I notice the expedience of the moat dredging and structural repairs over the last two months is now down to a dribble, as I saw no-one there today.

They have obviously been told not to bust a gut.....not like like they would have anyway.

Maybe.  If those who control you deign to allow you to 'have fun again.'
It most likely will require you to have a quantum micro-dot tattoo showing your vaccination status or a officially accepted facsimile in order to participate.  Of course, the majority of plebs will be more then willing to take that mark in order to be allowed to travel, to work, to buy non-necessities like alcohol, and to 'have fun.'  Just the price to be paid to be a serf human in 2020 and beyond.
Coming to a dystopian future near you soon.
