Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament

Recommended Posts

Saw this article about the women's beach volleyball tournament and couldn't figure out if its in Nakhon or Hat Yai? Also note that there will be further tournaments in Pattalung and Songkhla.

Malaysians reach semi-finals in women's beach volleyball meet in Thailand:

PETALING JAYA: National spikers Beh Shun Thing and Luk Teck Eng are through to the semi-finals in the Nakhon Si Thammarat International women's beach volleyball tournament held in Hattyai, Thailand.

The Malaysian duo preparing for the SEA Games in Korat in December finished Group A champions after having registered wins over the pairs from Kazakhstan 2-1 and Thailand B 2-0.

They now meet the team from the Philippines in the semi-final Friday while fancied Thailand A will take on the Thai B team in the other semi-finals.

The other Malaysian pair of M. Iswari and Yeah Mei Yan playing in Group B made an early exit after going down to the Philippines and Thailand A by similar 0-2 scores.

The two Malaysian pairs are also scheduled to compete at the Asian International Invitational championship at Patthalong from April 9-11 and at the Asian Beach Volleyball Tours in Songkhla from April 14-16.

I imagine there are a few fans of women's beach volleyball amongst the Thai Visa gentlemen :o

I understand that they are holding the national sports championships here in Nakhon in September. Our school is being closed for the month and is hosting some of the competitions including beach volleyball.
