The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has issued a warning letter to 132 Thai nationals who attended a large religious festival that concluded in the in the Malaysian capital earlier this month.

People at the festival have tested positive for coronavirus.

There were 10,000 attendees at the Jhor Qudamak and Ulamak Malaysia 2020 at Sri Petaling Mosque from february 27th to March 2nd.

Most of the Thais were believed to have attended after coming from Thailand.

Advice about immediately going to hospitals for virus checks was given in an embassy letter. People still in Malaysia were told to contact the CPRC disease center and avoid going out in public and quarantine themselves. They were also advised to call a hotline.

The Thai Rath article did not make it clear what had been done about those that might have already returned to Thailand.

Bad headline: They may have had contact with the COVID-19 virus, but unless they have symptoms, having contracted the virus is not likely.
