But it is old news, given that exactly the same thing was reported with exactly the same drugs, at least 6 weeks ago.

For instance, promising results were reported for the lopinavir/ritonavir combination back on February 3 in (would you believe it?) Thailand.

Drug combination for coronavirus treatment

Chloroquine as a potential treatment was reported on almost as long ago, on Feb 4.

In any event, you're right on one thing, we can't be sure until proper clinical trials are done. Anecdotal evidence of one or two patients who for all we know, might have had a mild case that would have resolved by itself anyway, does not show that the drugs worked, only that they might.

Wrong. My link showed people in Aus bring cured.

China has a lot to answer for because of their stinking live animal food markets

It is also worth noting that Thailand also has similar markets in Bangkok

Not only that. By not telling the world what a serious issue they had, they were basically killing many innocent people.

Not directly, but indirectly.

And all these Chinese people who knew what was going on and reported on Youtube and other medias have now disappeared.

It's China's fault alone and they now charge money for "International travelers to be in quarantine? How insane is that?

Bangkok does not have a live exotic animal market at which animals are slaughtered as in Wuhan. They do have exotic pets markets. All the world's Covid 19 hotspots stem from universally well traveled Chinese after Covid 19 was discovered in Wuhan in November and spread apparently unnoticed for 2/3 months before the Chinese owned up. The Chinese Tourist and expat communities  in Thailand are still preferring to stay here rather than risk China.

I had the pleasure of working in Nigeria

Ah, "the pleasure"............

I was there at the end of the Biafran war and it was terrible, also got some strange 'virus" (I think) which laid me low for quite a few days, but as you imply......much more to worry about!

They don't have a branch of the "Wuhan Institute of Virology" either in Bangkok ????

Not logical that they would start at home is it? More possible is a rival country trying to cripple another country's stronger economy. That makes a lot more sense.

most people live in AIRCOOLED rooms = colder than 27 °C

at home, the car, the office, shopping malls, BTS, MRT, schools (non-gov), airports...

you only need one sick person at lower than 27 degrees to kill this "hot weather balloon"

think about thais and their precious WHITE SKIN will not allow themselves to absorb vitamin D from the  sun !!!!

the super polluted thai air does not help anybody's lungs and this disease attacks ... THE LUNGS .... should be a wake up call but will be missed by those in power

Air con = correct! Why didn't any of the experts think about this? One of the first Thai victims was a taxi driver who had Chinese customers. If we want to be safer in a taxi, turn off air con and open windows, but watch out for diesel fumes....

When this virus kicked off and spread in Wuhan, the continental winter climate was cold and dry. The next main hot spots were Korea, Iran and Italy, all with similar seasonal climatic conditions.

Wrong.

Average humidity for Wuhan is 80% humidity year round. Average humidity for Milan is 80% humidity, but this year has been 90%+.

Avg. humidity for Daegu, Korea and Qom, Iran are in the 50%.

Except for Iran, I can attest to this from personal experience.

So far scientifically, there is no correlation either way between humidity and spread of covid-19.

Not quite. It showed that people given the medication recovered. They might have done so anyway. Still it's very promising and should be pursued at top speed.

You mentioned humidity, I didn't. I said cold and dry, meaning cold with low precipitation.

Wuhan's coldest month is January, which also has the second lowest rainfall.

February sees third lowest temperatures in Milan, with lowest precipitation.

So you might want to hold your tongue.

A total of 177 who got the virus in a country of 66 to 67 million people is very low.  You got to remember that Thailand has a large number of people return from China, South Koran, Taiwan and Japan which contributed to the count.

Very true.

Actually, in Malaysia a big surge was tied to a Muslim get-together outside Kuala Lumpur.

How a 16,000-Strong Religious Gathering Led Malaysia to Lockdown

The struggle to contain infections linked to a religious gathering has led Malaysia to resort to sweeping restrictions on people’s movement, underscoring the challenge of upholding religious rights in fighting a pandemic.

More than half of the country’s 673 confirmed cases, the most in Southeast Asia, were linked to an event that ran from Feb. 27 to March 1 attended by about 16,000 people at a mosque near Kuala Lumpur. Neighboring countries Singapore and Brunei have also reported cases that could be traced back to the gathering.
