webfact
Hua Hin and the virus: Resort bucks the trend and stays open for business Picture: 77kaoded It was business as normal in Hua Hin yesterday - at least as normal as can be expected in these virus hit times. The popular resort 220 kms south of Bangkok has not shut its entertainment facilities like Pattaya and Phuket. Yesterday, mayor Noppaporn Wuthikun led 100 municipal workers in what 77kaoded called a "big cleaning" of Soi Bintabaht, a popular area of bars in the central part of the seaside town. Last night was set to be the first night of central screening for coronavirus - people with a temperature of 37.5 would be forbidden entry. The media said that the cleaning and measures were intended to promote confidence among tourists. Picture: 77kaoded Many places have closed in Hua Hin including schools, movie theaters, cock fighting arenas and other places where there are many people together. But the bars and entertainment places have not been ordered to close their doors. Meanwhile the Hua Hin district chief held another crisis meeting at city hall - a meeting where the participants had to sit 1 meter apart in a measure called "social distancing". Thanon Phanpheephat said there had been no additional virus cases to the two that were previously announced - a Chinese tourist and a taxi driver who have recovered. He said that 27 tourists were on a watchlist. Picture: 77kaoded Establishments that stay open were advised to continue safe practices like hand washing, screening of staff and having hand gels ready. Restaurants were opening as normal, he said at the meeting, reiterating that he had had no orders from the government to shut down the resort's entertainment industry. Popular Post smedly
yes washing the street is an effective measure to clean - the street but does nothing to protect from COVID 19 or any other virus for that matter and Temp screening doesn't work either Put your beer prices up that should keep people away - oh already doing that at 100baht for a 30baht bottle of Tiger - exactly what Phuket did and now they complain nobody goes there 1 2

I don't know how country wide the Thai official orders have been about closing down places.

from the home of CC
according to the wife, it's all down and not dirty, cutting both mall hours too. Don't mind that, too many zombie flicks took place in malls..
