Surprised, as the bar in the photo was definitely not open when I went out for a look earlier this afternoon.

Pattaya Update News reported that police and local officials were out on Thursday evening

Possibly. But I think quite a significant proportion is  dedicated to buying a  higher  rank for the advantage of a higher percentage that will then go towards  a pension fund. 555

Same Sam but little different 5555…..

they are very  active latest , I saw them on Theprasit rd. check points for long time ,several times checking both directions moto cycles AND cars (just looking thru windows for safety belt wearing  I guess...)

And not only Farang or other foreigners , Thais also ….

So some high ranks could be"  loaded " now

And meanwhile in my BKK neighborhood, the same exact kind of places are operating and open just fine...

And the few tourists that I see around, mostly western now, are sitting around outside at bars and restaurant-bars eating and drinking table to table, just like nothing bad was happening anywhere.

Similar in Chumphon.     but they are more like restaurants where you can get a beer also.

Actually if it wasn't for SongKran getting cancelled or flights/news, you would hardly know about the pandemic in Thailand.
