It seems that many tourists are of the belief that there's an ongoing curfew in place in Phuket. Having read the document issued on Wednesday, it appears to me that that was just a one night directive but I've seen Facebook posts from tourists who believe they have to stay in their rooms from 7pm. The number of people on the streets last night seemed to support this. Can someone give definitive answers? Is there a curfew in Phuket? Does it apply only to tourists? What hours does it apply to? How would they know if ur a tourist or a local expat? I'm training again for the 4-daagse, and with bang wad not an option want to walk Rawai-kata-nai harn- Rawai tomorrow morning. It applies to tourists only and is in effect from 8pm until 3am. Apparently this document tells all but as I can't read Thai I haven't a clue. Where the logic lies in this type of curfew I don't have a clue. It may stop people congregating in public areas but that's still happenoeng on the beaches during the day. I have seen people walking and running in Naiharn and Kata, but not on the beaches, but on the road and pavement - which doesn't make sense to me at all, they pass by each other close, much more space on the beach....!!! ?
