For those who accuse their goverment for abuse of power, it was naturaly for me to ask how they did end up in Thailand, and choose to live here?

I think what you mean is something along the lines of..

All the libertarians shouted "We will not be dictated to!"-and then promptly went off to live in Thailand????

As for the various and varied governments sprinkled liberally 'pon this earth I guess it's damned if they do and damned if they don't.

And again, I haven't said otherwise or encouraged anyone else to do anything either...

I've got another few posts still in this thread for you to target and read into them what you want to ????????

You're underlying tone across your posts infer that Governments are lying to us. Perhaps, but on this occasion I don't think so.

Im not angry, just <deleted> off by grown up people who should have known better before participate against matters that should be taken serious, and if everyone give some effort it will end sooner than later. This virus will be around us for many years to come, and we are at least 10 months away from a proven vaccine.

Many people is in risk category, and Im sure you have friend, family etc as well you care for. Im young healthy and wealthy, so Im not afraid on behalf of myself. Neither hysterical as some poster try to accuse those who is concerned.

The last thing I want to experience in Thailand is complete lock down by army, and regulated by them. I think none of us really want that to happen!

Yes, it would have been very nice if any, just ONE, government would have taken the pandemic seriously.

There were many warnings. We saw for two months how Wuhan was developing. Sadly, still no governments took it seriously.

Noone knows exactly how far away we are from a successful vaccine, but what is for sure is that it is more likely that herd immunity will happen before any vaccine arrives. The spread of the virus is so advanced now that lockdowns and such measures are useless. What governments should be doing is what the South Korean and German governments are doing, take the fight to the virus, work hard to test, identify and isolate the infected.

Unfortunately, most governments don't do that and instead have the brilliant idea to ....do nothing. Social distancing is a show about nothing. It will not work, there is no evidence that it works, no hard data at all. See governments don't end pandemics. Scientists, private businesses and medics do.

Yes, it will end sooner or later, but not because governments isolated the healthy from the healthy. That just brought economic melt-down. What will end it is herd immunity. Slavish following of social distancing is just stupid and totally without merit or effect.

That might be my underlying tone but don't try to twist my words into something that suits your agenda better... You don't know my stance on this whole virus situation and have no idea what measures I have or have not taken.. Unless you stalk back through my posting history which might then surprise you ????

As do you, obviously bigoted etc. touched a nerve.

I have an issue with words that are pejoratives when applied to human beings who are trying to make a living as best they can.

Permit me to doubt you have no issues, because you are banging on ( pun fully intended ) about the topic every opportunity you get.

It seems to me difficult or even impossible not to speak sex in any subject relating to Thailand;
a sizable percentage of last names have the word "porn 'inside ...
It's pun for those who cannot or don't want to understand ...

I am not so sadistic I would ever invite someone to do that. You are saying there will not be a single inconsistency in everything you have posted?

Absolutely!

This thread is about 'films officially sold in Japan'. Let's not confused with the 'underground industry', which is way beyond this topic's remit.

I gave you a " thanks " because it's not possible to give two different smileys ..

So :jap: and :cheesy:

I don't have an agenda nor do I have any interest on your stance. I'm just concerned that some posts (not necessarily yours) are plainly ignorant on this matter.

JMHO of course ????

'Thinking' is about weighing up available data and making an informed and balanced decision based on the facts currently available. Whilst I agree Governments don't always tell us the truth, it doesn't take a genius to understand that the best thing we can do regarding COVID-19 is to listen to those doctors, sciencetists and leaders and do the right thing. Stay at home, wash your hands and observe social distancing. What's not to understand?

But which governments?

They don't all prescribe the same "medicine"

And many doctors, including the world most renown specialist in disease transmission, are against locking down entire populations.

We certainly need to be careful, but that doesn't mean that we should accept anything because we are told so.

The available facts/numbers show that the countries which have imposed the most draconian restrictions (Italy, France...) are also those getting the worst results...

How come?

'Many doctors' does not equate to MOST doctors.

With the given data at the moment, I would suggest that yes, we should accept what we are being told.

Italy has an aging population and has been hit hardest than most and since when have the French (and the British for that matter) ever listened to their Governements, even now there are people out on the streets unnessarily, people having BBQ's, people still not getting the message.

I'm probably one of the most apathetic people around but this is scary <deleted>!

Bucks ........ 30 years expenses + 650,000 pounds at the end (including my home/children/dog).

She didn't contribute a dime.

Around 1,000 pounds a go + 30 years of free living off me.

If only my dad had warned me at the outset!

The famous Batman cartoon  ( slapping Robin upside the head)  came a little too late for

old BM2 .     Unfortunately,  nobody on forums ever listens to that kind of warning

That's excellent news. So the UK will progress even faster towards herd immunity. You should thank those people.

Also, when the message is wrong, its okay to have a BBQ.

I can realistically claim to have had sex on the "unpaid" vs paid circuit quite a few times, and believe me the sex workers are much better at it, and can make it much more enjoyable. I don't use the word prostitute, IMO that just shows the person using it is bigoted, narrow-minded and has a high probability of being a god-botherer.

Come on now. Most of us are cooped up, bars are closed, theatres are closed, can't even have a swim, etc. Do you really want me to rabbit on about my last round of golf, and how I missed a putt the size of your johnson?

I have been around a bit before I met the right lady, but in fact the 'professional' ones, meaning I paid them, were not really any good at all. You have been exceptionally lucky.

I like the "putt" line! Have to remember that one.

The opportunity here for off label medicines and even Herbal medicines to be less regulated is promising, imagine how the pharmaceuticals are competing against old reliable drugs to try to get in-front to make a profit out of this, the more off labels are used the faster they will try to come up with a "cure" just wish they would it other diseases and viruses.

The most prominent doctors are against lockdowns (see my OP on "please read these medical opinions").

And you don't explain why the countries with the most restrictions have the worst results by far???

I'm not talking about the underground industry which is another topic

Can we have a no holes barred discussion here or should we regroup at PA and have a party ! Wearing masks of course so we don't recognize one another.

And I believe that. He is a good guy, and seems honest. Anyone who contradicts Trump generally, is a person with integrity. Truth vs. deflection. And I am not advocating the avoidance of taking precautions. All I am saying is, that I tend to agree with this OP about the intentions of government and authority. That relates to any government, but especially this administration, that cannot be relied upon for fairness, decency, competence, talent, or honesty. Rarely is any governmental authority honorable and noble. A lockdown may have some wisdom at this moment. Maybe. Maybe not.

But there is no doubt we are seeing a massive over reaction over this. And there is no doubt, that the economic consequences will be infinitely greater than the death toll.

Millions will remain out of work for a long time to come.

Many will starve in nations like India, that do not have any real, or practical safety net.

I do not see Thai tourism EVER recovering to the extent it was before.

Will people return to the movie theaters like before?

Will people be willing to travel as much as before? Where will they travel to?

Will people return to restaurants, and dine out like they did before?

There are an infinite number of questions out there, and they all remain unanswered.

This is not the zombie apocalypse, and there is no doubt that the panic, fear and precautions being taken are out of proportion to the risk, by a ridiculous degree.

We’re not going back to normal

Social distancing is here to stay for much more than a few weeks. It will upend our way of life, in some ways forever.

One good thing about crazies is everybody automatically uses social distancing away from them.
