BANGKOK (NNT) - The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing, China, issued a statement regarding a rumor, spreading via the Weibo Chinese social media platform, accusing Thailand of receiving medical equipment from China but then sending it to the United States.

 

The statement says "The delivery of masks from Thailand to foreign countries were done by foreign companies whose factories are located in Thailand. They operate under the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement, with contracts and intellectual property regulations which prohibit them from selling their products domestically. They are only for export. In addition, these companies have received investment incentives from Thailand (via the Board of Investment), with the right to import raw materials for export without paying import duties."

 

In conclusion, these companies were established in Thailand to manufacture for export only. Their products cannot be sold in Thailand, even though the country is facing a serious short supply.

 

After the statement was released on Weibo by the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing, Chinese social media users clicked "Like" for more than 13,000 times, "Share" almost 2,000 times and wrote more than 1,000 comments, saying that now they understand the situation. For example, some of the comments said "Got it," "Next time, the media should check the background information thoroughly," and "China has OEM companies like this too."

So it looks likes our illustrious leader doesn't appear to have any 'emergency powers' to prevent this, even though the whole thing is going on within Thailand.

Govt claims more than a million masks are being produced daily by local factories and with the shipment from China, it really baffles me how millions and millions of PPE can go missing right under the all mighty leadership of current govt!!?? What a laughing stock this is....

The statement doesn't address the issue that medical equipment from China to Thailand is being sent to the USA but everyone seems to accept it!

Saw a pic from Australia of employees (Chinese) from a Chinese company with pallet loads of PPE bound for China. This company is world wide. Why have Chinese been buying up milk formula from around the world? To sell for profit. One could also speculate that the CCP is now selling PPE to the world so as to look like the good guys. To change the narrative.

Company is Greenland Real Estate a Chinese company direct links to CCP. Look it up. This has been reported in the press. I would think it has some substance. 90 tones of it in fact.

Have witnessed with my own eyes export of stuff happening in a chemist in Australia.  Contacted management and it has now been stopped.

 

When hand sanitiser was last available in Australia I saw an individual in Coles sweep their arm across the shelf and into their shopping bag.  Impossible for an individual to use that much in a year so I am certain it was for family abroad or export.

 

Face masks have not been available in my area since mid Jan.  At that time no one in Australia was concerned so where did they go?

 

Everyone wants to live in Australia but for some their true loyalties still lie overseas.

Over a half million masks that were send from China to The Netherlands were destroyed by the Dutch government as they weren't safe to use. Made in China !!!

at that point wuhan was going critical and there were (i think) no cases in australia.  since then chinese factories were expanded or repurposed to produce medical supplies, the peak has peaked, and they are now sending supplies out, freight even leaving wuhan by rail to europe as of yesterday.

 

have there been any large shipments into china since maybe mid-february?

You have obviously missed the simple point. This wasn't for the Chinese people. The CCP doesn't care about them. They only care about their own power. It was to sell to the world to make the CCP look like good guys. Maybe you should read or re-read my previous posts. Jan and Feb? They knew about this in Dec the previous year. The CCP released this virus to the world.

Ahh... but the government has declared a State of Emergency... And as he's often reminded us, Prayut now once again has sole and supreme power over everything.  So if he wanted to redirect the destination of those Thai manufactured masks to the domestic market instead of going abroad, I'm pretty sure he could....   But obviously, he hasn't... not even tried.

And how many articles have I read in past week about the govt ramping up mask production. And yet here we are approaching April, several months in, and still we have, "a serious short supply."  Why???
