I just transferred my UK current account to Revolut. Solved the problem. Identity checks are all done via the secure phone app. I do all my UK banking via that now and have done for the last 3 years. Plus I hold accounts in Euro, THB, US Dollar, INR and HKD so I avoid the high exchange rate costs when I get cash from the ATM or make local purchases with my Revolut Visa card.

I see, it appears that you have solved your UK banking woes. Maybe phetphet can go this route as well. Banking in/from Thailand can be like the special olympics as anyone can attest to.
