It's still somewhat affordable for basic services, but as soon as you need a bit more it gets very expensive. I had to go to a private clinic to get something done because mission was twice the price. Mission charged 3.7x more than it would cost back home at a private clinic. Haven't you been away from Phuket for some time? If so, how would you know they have raised their prices over that time? Prices from a clinic being cheaper is in no way an indication that Mission has increased their prices, let alone prices 'back home', it indicates even less that it was due to the government asking them to increase their prices.
