Twenty-seven Metropolitan Police Bureau officers have contracted Covid-19, while another 326 were ordered to undergo self-quarantine, bureau commissioner Pol Lt-General Pakapong Pongpetra revealed today (March 30).

“According to an inspection, most policemen who contracted the virus either visited Spain or attended a boxing stadium event in Bangkok or had a meal with an infected person,” he said.

The commissioner dismissed a rumour that a policeman from Taling Chan station contracted Covid-19 at a checkpoint.

He has ordered six officials related to the patient to go into self-quarantine for 14 days.

Taling Chan police station and nearby areas have already been sterilised.

“Police checkpoints in Bangkok are being sterilised on a regular basis to assure officials and people about their safety,” he said.

I hope they start feeling better soon. I notice many cops enjoy smoking which apparently is not helpful. Therefor they should outlaw sales of cigarettes.

You are joking of course.  Thai government forego excise revenue?  Never going to happen. The government has a history of putting money first.  Remember the border with China?

This is whom..."“According to an inspection, most policemen who contracted the virus either visited Spain or attended a boxing stadium event in Bangkok or had a meal with an infected person”, all clearly stated in the OP.

Do we have statistics on how long the virus can survive on brown envelopes?

I think we need a committee formed to study this important information.
