geovalin
Prime Minister Hun Sen said yesterday all casinos across the Kingdom will be shut down from April 1 to stem the coronavirus pandemic, a move which could cost about 20,000 Cambodian workers in the sector their jobs. Speaking to a group of reporters during a press conference at the National Assembly yesterday, Mr Hun Sen said all casinos will be temporarily shut down on Wednesday to curb the virus in the Kingdom. “We order all casinos to be closed down in the Kingdom from 11.59 pm on April 1, 2020,” he said. “Why do we allow them to operate until April 1? Why don’t we implement it tonight? It is because casino employers need to solve the issues with their employees.” Mr Hun Sen said the Ministry Economy and Finance needs to deal with casino owners regarding the closure order. “If we close the casinos right away, then casino employers will flee. Who will respond to the workers who are suspended from their jobs?” he said. “We hand over this work to the Ministry of Economic and Finance to continue working on this matter with all casino owners.” read more https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50707787/pm-orders-all-casinos-to-close-by-april-1/
