REUTERS/Tom Brenner WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump warned Americans they would have a very tough two weeks coming in the fight against the coronavirus as he urged everyone to follow federal social distancing guidelines through the end of April. "It's absolutely critical for the American people to follow the guidelines for the next 30 days. It's a matter of life and death," Trump said in a news conference at the White House. He is the highest instance in the US to lead the fight against Covid , and he will be held responsible for wrong decisions made . He is a master in the ' art of business ' he says , now he can gain some popularity in the way he manages this crisis . Popular Post Stargeezr
Yes Trump and several reporters in the news industries have had to change what they used to say, to a brand new serious talk. No more Fox News, poo pooing the virus as they did in the beginning. What a bunch. Geezer
Popular Post Pedrogaz
I guess if you tell enough lies every day, then one day one or two of the lies will turn out to be a truth, and you have told the truth by mistake. Trump operates on this principle, like a stopped clock being right twice a day. A few days back he was telling Americans that the virus was a hoax. It astonishes me that anyone is dimwitted enough to put any faith in what he says....his truth to lie ratio is about 1:99.

Crazy Alex
Yes, it's going to be tough for the next few weeks- especially in New York, where government incompetence has led to New York being BY FAR the most infested state in the union. Hopefully they get their act together.

Popular Post OneMoreFarang
Can one of those Trump supporters here please explain how you can still support that guy. Compare what he said a few weeks ago with now and it's like night and day. American had the first Corona case at the same time like Korea. Look at the way they reacted and the way the US president reacted. And look at the current stage. Nobody can say there was no hint of what will happen. And on top of his downplaying the situation and making it a lot worse he now still tells everybody he was and is doing everything right. IMHO Trump should go on his knees and tell the people he is really really sorry that he made so many mistakes and in the future he will listen to experts and don't tell any BS anymore. That's what he should do, but obviously that will never happen. Why do you still support the guy who showed that he does not listen to experts, plays everything down, and will cost your country at least 100,000 dead people? 2

I suggest you watch the briefings, and reflect on his ealier pronouncements of reopening the economy. "This is only the "flu" , no I take no responsibilty." When informed about the contagion rate "Oh I didn't know that". The facts had been around about contagion several months by then. He does not delegate, that is part of his egocentricity and his problem. ("I know big words, I am smarter" ) Most other leaders addressing the community have an understanding of what they are saying and how to communicate the information, or DELEGATE the presentation to those who do understand, rather than fumbling. Truth telling it will be a tough few months if not more, tell the truth, arm the populace with knowledge, lead, rather than fumbling Edited April 2, 2020 by RJRS1301

Dude is almost as senile as Bobby Mueller. Bernie? Seriously, bro? How about the alternatives in the GOP? Are all GOP members obliged to nod to everything that Trump does? Or could they stand up and tell the president: You are wrong! Trump is where he is because it seems at least 90% of the GOP members, especially in congress and senate, let him do whatever he wants to do. They don't have to do that. And I am pretty sure Trump would have to change his behavior if the members of his own party would tell him to do so. But they don't do it. They don't even want to listen to evidence how bad Trump is. They just nod, nod, and not and let Trump get away with anything - even if his decisions are horrible for the USA and the rest of the world. Is there nobody else in the GOP who can do a better job? What exactly are you complaining about? 1) he doesn't even have doctors at most of the briefings nowadays, he has realised they say the opposite or correct him. he doesnt delegate or take advice, he calls it fake news if a reporter quotes the doctors 2) He is self promoting during what are supposed to be serious information briefings. He is even quoting how many people are watching the briefings as some sort of indicator of his own popularity. People are watching the briefings for possibly life saving information, not because they like trump. Did you ever see Bush self promoting after 911 ? 3) 2 weeks is a figure trump has pulled out of nowhere, 3 weeks from now will be just as bad. Its an attempt to down play the severity and time frame, 2 weeks from now it will all be ok, it wont.

Popular Post Peterw42
Imagine this scenario, a farmer in Hicksville USA, flicks on the TV a couple of weeks ago to see trump saying "Its the flu, cases will reduce to zero, its under control, a vaccine will be available soon, anything to the contrary is fake news. Goes back to plowing the field. The same farmer turns on the TV a couple of weeks later to see trump say "its all under control we are going back to work at Easter. Goes back to plowing the field. Same farmer turns on the TV today to see trump saying "its under control, we just need to get through the next couple of weeks, no shortages of ventilators, we are testing more people than the rest of the world". Not everyone watches the full news cycle where the rubbish trump says is corrected, proven false or updated. 20% of the news is Trump downplaying and saying self promoting rubbish, the other 80% of the news is fact checking and correcting Trumps rubbish. 3

If Hillary were POTUS, the US would be in the same exact situation except we'd still have thousands of illegals spilling across the Mexican border on top of everything else. The reason why this happened the way it did is because China lied and covered up the outbreak, which led to the virus being exported around the world, then you had all the scumbag politicians in DC too busy selling stock and shoring up their finances before the dow crashed. By the time any meaningful reaction happened it was too late.
