Its the same situation all over the world, if you are not having problems breathing , the same as the couple in the OP, you dont need to be in Hospital. They should start fining people that unnecessarily present at over crowded hospitals I think you will find that hospitalisation is not normally a personal choice, as in choosing to stay in a hotel for your leisure. If you are admitted to hospital, it is usually a decision of a medical doctor, or team, who decide it is necessary for the person admitted to stay there, to be supervised round the clock, by medical professionals. Thai private hospitals are run like businesses and likely to give unnecessary treatment and admissions.
