More draconian measures for those that are attempting to live here. Petitions rarely cause anything to happen (especially petitions with only 300-odd names!) because they're not the way to get things done, why would you expect this one to do anything? "More draconian measures for those that are attempting to live here". Draconian measures? What? What are the more onerous requirements for extensions that have now been added for those living here? Does anyone know if this is cumulative or adjusted as people become well. What defines a "case" and when does someone become well ? Just wunnerin.... I can't care less about the total cases. In fact, I think the media should have a rule NOT to report the number of cases. All its doing is casing people to panic. Having the virus mostly is very mild to moderate illness, and you recover. But, people seeing the number of cases going up makes them think its people seriously ill and / or dying. I think they should just report the confirmed deaths from it... along with the age demographic, but that is not so exciting for the news and would make people wonder why countries are having lockdowns and 24 hours curfews etc. 16 minutes ago, Hooliganzone said: You don't need anything only your passport, you should have a paper inside with expiry date to report from when you last reported there is a barcode on it all they do is read the barcode and that's it. Here in Chiang Mai we need the passport, TM30, and one other form that you fill in details of your address and other personal details. 1 minute ago, herwin1234 said: look at that, finished in a few minutes and a Thai Immiigration officer who cares that you dont wait in the sun. The immigration staff are NOT to blame. They have to cope with the limited resources or new rules that are passed down to them from those up top. They are overwhelmed with forms, numbers or people, new regulations, and now these virus safety rules on top. I can understand whey the staff get flustered and irritated, dealing with that work every day, and no wonder they sometimes might get angry with some awkward and argumentative farang from time to time. 1

Popular Post Sumarianson
The 90 day report is totally unnessary in this crisis. Anyone who has lived here more than 6 months and has an Imm O, OA or ED visa and has not changed address since last reported should not have to risk their lives for such an unnessary formality. I have COPD and use medication and oxygen. If I got the virus then my children here would be without a father but does this government care? Jobs worth hat for them. bestie
You have to see the virus like little particles which can stick on everything. (Money, doorknobs, and tatat Passports) How many passports are going through one officers hand a day? 100? I don't know but it's the best way to exchange something between people without notice even if you stand 2m apart before or if don't have to go out of your car. I have a lot of respect for the officers because it's really a front line job without special protection. Sure you cannot avoid everything but if you are happy that you don't have to stand in a queue. Yes that's great, I wish that would be everywhere but that doesn't mean you haven't take the virus with you. The best advice is not only social distance the best advice would be don't touch anything. But we are at the beginning so things can change quickly.

Popular Post spidermike007
Sorry guys, but you deserve all the flak we could possibly dish out to you. You have spent years abusing us, directing racist and xenophobic venom our way, putting inane roadblocks in our way when it comes to the renewal of a retirement or marriage visa, and now you are asking us for tolerance and understanding? Sorry. Not gonna happen. You should be a peak efficiency right now, since there is barely anyone coming, or going out of the country, and barely any tourists here. So, what I think I am hearing is just more excuses for poor service, and a total ability to take responsibility for your actions, or inactions. Man up. Do your jobs. Stop moaning. You deserve the criticism. If you cannot handle it get another job. IF YOU CAN find one! You have no sympathy from the downtrodden ex-pats, that is for sure. At this time of economic shutdown, when tens of millions are without an income, you should be grateful you even have a job and a salary. Accept it. Be grateful. Be nicer. Get some humility. Your job is alot more than many of us, and most of the nation has. And this is an opportunity for you to improve. Think you guys can do that? More services should be available online anyway. You are asking us to stay home after all. Edited April 3, 2020 by spidermike007 9 1

Popular Post PMZ
I was at Muang Thon Thani for the Section K applications, mine was for the first extension of a 30 Day Visa Waiver. I arrived at 07:15. There are two rows of seats outside the building, with awning covering them. We sat there for about 15 minutes. Then we were taken, line by line, into the building and up to the third floor of the multi storey car park. There, about 6 rows of twenty seats each are laid out. Sporadically, one row would be taken downstairs, then that row re-stocked, then, later the next row would go down. On level two, there were similar rows. A first check of documents was done here. There are photocopy and photo facilities here. There are also two rows at the opposite angle to the rest. Those two rows were checked (more thoroughly) for document correctness, then after some time, given a number and then, led to the aircon'd Immigration processing room. Once inside there, it seems quite quick to process the 40 people in each batch. After documents done and payment made, you move to the area next door and await the updated passport to be called. I waited about 30 minutes here. Difficult to hear the names of the passport holders who are then expected to go and collect their passport. Left at 12:15, so five hours in total. As a temporary facility, it is OK and to be fair, the process quite orderly. But, still 5 hours. Images are of: The waiting area on Level 3 of the car park The processing room for the paperwork
TigerandDog
Actually one thing Immigration could do during this period is to decentralise and use local Imm Offices to do extensions of stay etc and not just 90 day reports. This would help reduce possible overcrowding in Imm Offices in Provincial capitals AND would save many foreigners having to travel 100's of kms each way if they have a local Imm Office. I know this seems to beyond the thought processes of Immigration heirarchy. OMG, I forgot that would make things easier for us, not more difficult.
