The latest case of Covid-19 recorded in Prajuab Khirikhan province has surprised medical personnel, said Sanook.

The 14th person diagnosed in the province has come back from a place not yet on the list of high risk countries - South Africa.

He is a 58 year old Belgian man who arrived in Bangkok on March 19th with his mother, aged about 80, on Qatar Airways.

He stayed in Bangkok for a few days then went to a condo in Hua Hin on the 25th and tested positive at Bangkok Hua Hin Hospital on the 28th.

He was admitted after being found to have a lung infection.

Governor Phallop Singhsainee gave details of the first death in the province who was the 57 year old man from Naratiwas who died at a railway station in the province.

This man had returned to Thailand from Pakistan and was travelling on the Bang Sue to Sungei Kolok service on the night of the 30th March. He was in Car 4, Seat 28.

He had underlying conditions of high blood pressure and diabetes. Though not from the province he was the first victim with Covid-19 there.

There was some good news - a 60 year old British national who was the third of the now 14 cases - has been allowed home after treatment at Bangkok Hua Hin hospital since last week.

Quite possible, but "foreigner infected in Bangkok" would go against the grain.

Besides, by virtue of being a foreigner, hes on the hook for every case since day one, and every one thereafter.

The chances that there is only 14 cases in HH is about 0%

But 14 is only the tested ones, how many others have the covid-19 but have nerver seen a doctor or never been tested. As I understand it, only the very sick ones are being testet.
