Muzzique
The last Condor flights direct flight to Frankfurt are now listed from Bangkok. As I have mentioned before they are for German repatriation but are open to Brits and EU citizens. Just book them on the Condor airway site. €99 one way including hand luggage, suitcase, meals and basic entertainment.. You need to arrange your own scheduled flight to the UK from there. There are about 5-6 flight per day from Frankfurt to the UK. The Phuket direct flights are now closed. The last Bangkok direct flight is on 8 April. After this you are on your own. Just watched this flight land around 9:30 just in front of the cancelled KL875 from Amsterdam. 20 minutes later the KLM flight still listed as cancelled. My brother is booked on the return KL 876 departing 22:30.

rech
We should shame and name all the airlines overcharging stranded tourists.

If you want to check further you can call the German Embassy in Thailand. (+66) 2 287 90 00 who can clarify this for you. This is their current feedback These are repatriation flight so are being run at cost and are heavily subsidized by the German government. There are no local taxes or landing costs applied by the airport or to fuels or other services where taxes may otherwise have been applied. They are only one way from the origination airport to Frankfurt. They are not commercial flights. The Germans are offering Brits and EU citizen the chance to fill the extra seats paying the same costs as the Germans. Germans book via a different site linked to their embassy and they are allocated seat. If you are German please check here. rueckholprogramm.de If there are seats available after the Germans seats are allocated they are offered on the Condor website for EU citizens. They are released in groups of 9 seats. Flights will open more groups of seats as the day progresses and it is apparent how many seats will be available on the flight. Many of the planes have a large number of seats available for EU citizens as these repatriation flights have been running daily from both Phuket and Bangkok for over 2 weeks. One flight per day from each location. Phuket flights are now stopped and Bangkok flights currently run till 9 April. If the oil price rises or taxes are applied that are currently not being applied then you may have to cover the difference. So far none of the EU travelers who have taken these flights have been asked to pay extra. The website shows one flight on 9 April with seats available for EU citizens. Check the site regularly to see if other flights become available. Edited April 5, 2020 by Muzzique

Yep , Ozzie's have flights coming soon but only out of hongkong and getting there won't be cheap and everyone then has to pay eg recent rescue flight from Peru to oz was 5k AUD per head.!! Probably on a pay back later plan and no way to dodge a government loan

These flights are organized by the French authorities to repatriate stranded tourists and some residents. So, it would make sense to use AF as the national carrier and to offer a direct flight. tso310
Qatar probably have aircraft and crew ready at short noticed. Air France's long haul aircraft probably need to a few days to get ready from their moth balled state. Saw the Qatar A380 on flightradar24 and wondered way they were using this type.
