Congrats to Thailand:

About Isaan. My girlfriend went back from Pattaya to Sakon Nakhon last Monday. She was checked 4 times on her way. She arrived at midnight. Next Morning around 8 am the police came with officials from her Ampeu and a medical staff. She was tested (negative) on corona and ordered to stay home in quarantine for 14 days after which she would be tested again. If she would break with these instructions she wmuld be sent to "monkee hou".

The joke in my western European country:

Coming back from Bangkok last Week. All the passengers received a paper instructing :"You must respect a 14 days home quarantine", because we returned from a trip abroad. No checks no follow up no ID control.

So they did a test that takes around 15 hours to give a result right then and there. Think on.

The ban on incoming flights will come into effect on Saturday morning and run until the end of Monday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand said in an order published late on Friday.

I think they'll need to do tht for a bit longer than 3 days...

Though of course they'll be concerned about the lost revenue :coffee1:

Very smaht hats those MP's have got. They look a bit like resprayed bike helmets, though of course they couldn't be...

Just watched a video of this confrontation at swampy. Police & airforce officers talk very nicely to try to persuade them to go to government quarantine (as did 50 passengers from Indonesia on Thursday). The mob weren't having it & the authorities backed down. Unbelievable way to handle civil disobedience during a pandemic.

Saving face wins again, who teaches them this shyt ?

"A public health officer allowed them to quarantine themselves at home. There was a commotion because they said they weren't aware they had to be put in a state quarantine," the officer said.

This will never happen.

Stop bashing or judging the Thais right away. People in Canada and US are not self quarantining even when govt told them to do so. They are still going to groceries stores amd going about meeting friends and getting together.

THE BAN DOES NOT APPLY TO STATE OR MILITARY AIRCRAFT, EMERGENCY LANDING, TECHNICAL LANDING WITHOUT DISEMBARKATION, HUMANITARIAN, MEDICAL OR RELIEF FLIGHTS, REPATRIATION FLIGHTS AND CARGO FLIGHTS.

This will allow airlines which have classified themselves as repatriation flights such as Qatar to go about their business as usual, that's how i read into it, scanning incoming flights there are a few scheduled to land today.

Correct. Currently the expected scheduled flights are still landing at BKK. TG from HKG, Qatar from DOH and Korean from ICN are coming in. Bearing in mind nobody is allowed in, they are able to take people out.

They're only testing 700 a day that's why. And every day finding 100-120. It doesn't make sense.

That makes the numbers of infected even greater .. It’s all about testing

And are the test kits the ones that Spain were using? .. Not enough tests being carried out that’s why the numbers being quoted are smsll

If the tests are not accurate, as appears to be the case, (the "authorities" are making the results work for them,) then they are useless!

This does not apply to state or military aircraft, emergency landing, technical landing without disembarkation, humanitarian medical or relief flights, repatriation flights and cargo flights. Passengers will be subject to 14-day quarantine upon arrival.

A linear growth of an infection is absolut not possible. I am always worked that Thailand isn't looking abroad and learn from other countries but follow their mostly ridiculous THAI way that must lead to a disaster! God save all people in this country who has suffer due to the stupud decision of their so called leaders!

A certain administration has been sticking it's nose into other countries affairs for so long some individuals have come to believe that they have a god given right to say how other countries should be run.

One would have thought that those from glass houses would have learned not to throw stones. Unfortunately you cannot fix stupid and many of us will end up paying the price.

I think it is more to prevent full scale panic if 70,000,000 people all suddenly realize that they're about to be hit with deaths like Italy is suffering.

There are probably a lot of nervous generals preparing private planes right now.

Not many countries would except anyone other than their own and even less countries would want the type you are referring to other than possibly some very very poor nations .
