OneMoreFarang
It seems the legal situation is/was not clear. Quarantine can be interpreted as home quarantine or enforced quarantine. Popular Post AussieBob18
Guys - the Thai 'Govt' (Army inc) couldn't organise a party in a brothel - we all know that. Stop being so surprised - and let me state soemthing - this is going to get worse in Thailand. Eventually they will no longer be able to suppress the numbers - Thai people are going to panic - they will not obey. If you are not able to stay out of things, and cannot survive a week without going outside, then start planning. The time to leave is getting shorter and shorter - but if you cant - then you better start to dig in. Come on guys - Thailand left the borders open for over a month after everyone else closed them. Thais are coming home from all over the world and they are not complying. Things are likely to come undone in some places - dont be an Expat (Falang) out in public when is does. And if this pandemic is as bad as they are saying (which I am still sceptical about), then there could be huge problems. Plan for it guys - if you are there plan to be able to dig in like an Alabama tick (to quote the movie). Seriously, some of you guys sound like a Thai who refuses to accept that wearing a helmet is a good idea - just in case of an accident. Get prepared if you are not - this could get very serious - put on a helmet !! 3 1

Migrant workers have been trying to return from a number of countries for weeks and have not been made aware of the true seriousness of this outbreak. Take a look at the way they are dressed- they don't look HiSo to me. Just another chance to put a slanted slur on what is happening here. If they had forcible detained them I bet you would have gone into a rant as well. ('Hoosegow'- pretty clear where you're from. Hows it going there with the biggliest virus in the world? A few draconian measures a few months ago may have stopped people dropping dead everywhere.) 1

Dont be surprised to see an alarming number of deaths in the next few weeks, and mass panic, the Temple crematoriums will be working overtime! They should/could have had this under control many weeks ago,but certain Government figures reckoned the hot weather would blow it away by Songkran...DUH!!!. The Thai Government Offices should be renamed 'The Dream Factory' inhabited by absolute F***wits. TIT. Actually, yes, such a certificate is required. BUT: Arriving on a plane of whose passengers three proved to have a high fever automatically invalidated that certificate and everybody on the plane became subject to the obligatory 14 days of quarantine. So, in this instance the health authorities at the airport acted correctly for once. Just because one has a certificate doesn't mean one has become immune to the virus. Nevertheless, things got really messed up. Firstly, you just don't let 3 feverish passengers "disappear into the crowds". And secondly, for the sake of everybody, you don't let the remaining passengers dictate to you how and where they should be quarantined. 5

AussieBob18
7 minutes ago, smedly said: did you just waken from a long sleep may I suggest you ........................................... there I am still not sure whether or not this pandemic is as bad as they are saying, and the clampdown is totally needed. But that is no longer the 'front office' issue - that will pan out one way or the other now. IMO the issue is the clampdown and compliance so that the numbers do decline and the clampdown is eased ASAP. The more infections the longer the clampdown stays in place - compliance is a key factor to reduce infections. The argument is past right or wrong - deadly or bad. The argument now is how long and what will happen if too long and when is too long and what is too much. Insulting Thais when most of the world has levels of non-compliance is a waste of time. Get a plan and get ready to dig in - or if you can, then get out now/soon.
