Will mosquitoes spread the disease?

Recommended Posts

Mr Google seems to be stumped on this one. Sometimes mossies spread a virus and sometimes they don't, as in HIV.

I am hoping they bite immune people and spread those anti-bodies. 555  🙃

In perspective to the current virus....dengue fever...in first 5 months of 2019....."According to the Bureau of Epidemiology, 18,000 people were infected with the dengue fever virus from January 1 to May 1 this year, and 27 of them, including 12 children, had died."......https://www.nationthailand.com/national/30369087

You could have shut down the country and economy, hand our mosquito repellent and stay home...just sayin'

But Dengue does not have the ability to infect 40,000,000 Thai, kill vast numbers, and destroy the economy. So they just let it run its course.

Of course it has.

This crisis would pale into insignificance if the mosquito species that carries the dengue virus were to adapt to temperate climates.

Global burden of dengue

The incidence of dengue has grown dramatically around the world in recent decades. The actual numbers of dengue cases are underreported and many cases are misclassified. One recent estimate indicates 390 million dengue infections per year (95% credible interval 284–528 million), of which 96 million (67–136 million) manifest clinically (with any severity of disease).1 Another study, of the prevalence of dengue, estimates that 3.9 billion people, in 128 countries, are at risk of infection with dengue viruses.

When HIV was new, people asked if it could be transmitted by mosquitoes. A leading expert in South Africa commented that no Mosquitoes had been found with HIV (but did not say how many had been tested).

Malaria also still kills thousands per year across Asia and Africa

But is not contagious

The authorities do attmept to control mosquito breeding, it one of the primary targets of the Gates and other foundations

Mosquito transmission of HV did not occur as the insect does not inject blood into a person bloodstream

HIV needs to be in sufficient quantities (estimated 2ml of infected blood) into the bloodstream of a negative person. It is transmitted sexually as the mucosa of the vagina and the anus are rapid uptake modes, through microscopic tears in the anal or vaginal wall,  into the blood stream, Infected semen is the transmission mode in most sexual activity of blood if estoric practices occur. HIVC was isolated in other bodily secretion, but not in sufficient quantaties to cause infection, and althoug isolated in some secretions is often unviable.

Dengue is transmitted to humans through the bites of infective female Aedes mosquitoes. When a patient suffering from dengue fever is bitten by a vector mosquito, the mosquito is infected and it may spread the disease by biting other people. Dengue is a virus
