The official distributor of SafeTCut stopped selling these as they have now the new model RMD9 in stock. There are still retailers that have the RMD3 in stock , old stock. The RMD9 has the room (with text 'disconnect L N ,dieelectric test' ) between the RCBO and Mainbreaker removed, so the module is a bit smaller. Tip: in the future you can have a surge protector at the left side of your consumer unit to protect your equipments from HV spikes or have an extra breaker at the right. Meanwhile this gap can be closed with a piece of plastic. RMD 3 and the RMD 9 Exactly right, RM9 a little smaller. Found out our PEA sparky has had the week off and is at a party house. Right now am still trying to find a sparky.

If you have a sparky you trust just wait for him.

Will it get so bad that looking at it funny will cause it to pop? Isn't this exciting??

livram
My PEA guy has screwed me around for 9 days and still has not shown up. Tomorrow I am going to PEA to see if I can get a different guy.
Popular Post livram
SOLVED?? This AM went to local PEA asked to have tech turn off power at meter or better yet replace RCBO part. Within 20 minutes PEA tech called and was at our house 5 minutes later. Yep, same guy that has been avoiding us for over 10 days. He turned off meter and replaced part which was lucky for me because the old part was very, very hard to remove, it was really stuck and I would have gave up because I would have been afraid of breaking something. The old part had a burn spot where the L cable connected to the 3-bar/rcbo. He said was caused by ants but I didn't see any ants at all. I forgot to get the size of the incoming cables but so far, so good. All a/c's ++ running good. Thanks to everybody for pointing me in the right direction. Now I figure out how to close the gap at the end and hopefully I will be finished.
Crossy
Hmmm, more likely a loose terminal fizzing gently for a goodly while. It's possible that it had actually welded the screw so no degree of "tightening" would have helped. It's also very likely that the heat from the bad connection is what's been causing your MCB to trip (thermal trip = delayed trip). Job's a good un, and you have a "spare" RCBO section.
