Phuketshrew
Given that Patong seems to be the epicentre in Phuket, then yes, a wise move to try and stop the spread island wide.

DFPhuket
My condo is just a couple hundred meters outside the checkpoint at Simon Cabaret heading to Karon. Is it possible to drive to Big C at Jungceylon (5 minutes away) or must I head the other direction to Karon/Kata/Chalong to get to a grocery store? Also, can Grab or Food Panda deliver outside the checkpoint? I have no idea why the checkpoint is not a bit further down - closer to the Le Meridien.
