Time to sue China?

That's true.

What you propose, the freezing of Chinese assets by the USA, actually happened in 1949-1972, including a massive trade embargo.

Didn't stop China from becoming an economic Superman.

You're going a bit far back. China really did not get set on the path to its current economic status until Deng Xiaoping introduced economic reforms in the 1980's, which included opening up China to world trade, and freeing up capital internally. He was really the architect of modern China.

One could argue China was producing more steel than the US as far back as 1967. However, the steel they were producing then was absolute garbage.

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to bicker but until you’ve lost a loved one to this global crisis, you probably can’t understand what we are going through. I sincerely apologize if my impassioned rants have hurt feelings, but right now, is a complicated time, and I really do not mean to offend anyone.

to those out there reading this: I pray you never see what I’ve seen, or experience what I’ve experienced. It hurts too much to talk about, at this time. Let’s just say that my entire life has been turned upside down..

I hope you all stay safe during these trying-times. We are all in this together, and I pray that everything will get better while the world heals..

sincerely,

John, Former coast guard of the United States for 8 years, and now an expat living in Thailand.

God bless you all.

Do you know how percentages and population scales work?

Russia has nearly 145 million people

Australia has less than 25 million people

OF COURSE they’re going to have higher reported cases. This is simple math and your point proves absolutely nothing, whatsoever. Also, I meant “lowest recorded cases relative to their respective population sizes” and I should have included that point, but it slipped my mind. Russia is a gigantic landmass near Asia and still their cases are disproportionately lower than they should be, statistically. Australia also has tons and tons of Chinese tourists every year, there is a huge Chinese population there, and yet, they are not in a state of emergency are they? And where’s your argument for North Korea? North Korea is one of China’s greatest allies in their fight against western domination, and yet, nobody there is dropping dead left and right. It’s almost as if China is intentionally spreading biological warfare against sworn global enemies, and if you think otherwise, you’re simply not educated in the matters of history and context. Every time a Chinese-originated pandemic spreads, wether it’s Avian flu, H1N1, Swine Flu, or now, coronavirus, it increases their wealth. You’re welcome to read up on their book-keeping and profit margins during these global crisis events if you don’t believe me, go ahead, look it up.

Also, as far as “thais” spreading the virus intentionally, that’s a big “citation needed”. I can link you dozens of videos of CCTV footage and just straight up smartphone recordings of Chinese tourists and nationalists out right deliberately spreading their germs on surfaces. Show me 3 or 4 videos of Thai people In Bangkok doing the same, and I’ll eat my words and retract everything I’ve said. You can’t. You are talking out of your bum and being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative, or you yourself have some kind of investment in China or their motives. It is not “racist” or “xenophobic” to point out that China is an awful, authoritarian hellscape who mistreats their citizens and constantly tries to extend their reach and dominance, you simply should just grow a brain and examine the facts rationally instead of being argumentative, who believes that every single human is a good person with good intention. All signs point to this being DELIBERATE and intentional, and it’s not a coincidence that the places least affected are... strong allies with China. Logic would dictate that Russia who is very, very close to China, would be one of the hardest hit places in the world. I wonder why that isn’t?

Here is one video clip of a Thai.

video

I will not go into any others as it would be only bickering but when you make a statement and it is answered and then you change your statement to try and show you are right. That is only bickering and trolling in my book.

Sorry, CharlieH but it was pointed at me and my answers.

Easier said than done I wouldn't hold my breath on this one but yes something needs to be done but it will take a lot more than what is being suggested here?

I being a Chines American born and raised spend a lot of time in H.K. and China even before it opened up. I've studied China, Asia and consider myself a student of the " Art of War ".  I usually stay off forums that discussed China because they are watching the last thing I want when I'm visiting China and leaving to be detained. None of this makes me an expert but like the rest and opinion.

I've seen this coming for a long time the blame goes to all the politicians of both parties who have sold their soles for the name of pure capitalism. All you got to do is go back and even today to see who is being brought by the Chinese, there isn't enough text here to list everyone and all the companies that have pimped and sold themselves. But lets name a few, G.E., Boeing, Google, Apply, G.M.,Tesla, Walmart, 3M. etc etc etc etc...

Now you got the politicians who are fanning the fire the same individuals have benefited and helped the raise of the Communist hoping that capitalism will change everything it has backfired. These are the same politicians that have no soles who can't run anything, screw up programs like Social Security and Medicare now have the balls to get on T.V. and say the programs are a entitlement.

These people, U.N. W.H.O., N.A.T.O American politician and business people got their heads up the Chinese they will never see the day. Before the Virus a good example the power of the Communist is how they shut down the free speech of all the players and coaches of the NBA that was a good example of what was going to come if things got bad now the virus.

You think someone or a company who whole existence depends on China can just pull out and start all over again! It will take time but do those who have their heads so deep have the fortitude to do it, can Trump put enough pressure in the future to make it beneficial, you think U.N. Russia, N.A.T.O and all those countries in the past whenever we need something is going to support us and not turn their backs.

Personally, they should take one of those smart???? bombs and hit their leaders where the sun don't shine and that includes a number of other countries who play both sides. Before anyone gets all bent out of shape America isn't perfect but if the <deleted> hits the fan who you want it isn't the communist that is for sure with me!

Pull out of U.N. W.H.O.  N.A.T.O slowly diverse and crush China once and for all for their greedy revenge plans so this never happens again. I didn't vote for Trump but I wasn't ever worry about him just to see the Communist get the short stick I vote for him this time around if Biden is the best that can be offered who just happens to be the guy who has his head so deep!

"crush China once and for all for their greedy revenge plans"

I guess it is a bit too late. Should have checked for WOMD in China long time ago. Today, they might knock on your front door finding for those WOMD that were missing in some other country, although it was destroyed completely in the process - collateral damage? LOL LOL

Yes, because the Chinese themselves were not certain that human to human transmission was possible. Remember this is a brand new virus.

Well, no the Chinese did not cover up the truth about the virus, you'd have a very hard time making that argument, because the Chinese released the genome, disclosed to the WHO on 31 December etc.

The Chinese would point to these facts and say "see, we've disclosed it all". A court would agree.

It may not have been disclosed as fast you, or me, would have liked, but there is no days requirement here. The fact remains China did disclose the information.

As soon as they found out themselves this was the coronavirus, or very shortly thereafter, they informed the West.

You are, again, leaving out the initial discovery, weeks before, where the samples were ordered destroyed.  Also the Chinese doctors and scientists who spoke out, and were ordered to retract and/or disappeared.  Also the refusal to allow other nation's specialists in.

The CCP released info only when they could not cover it up any more, then tried to spin this release of info as being "helpful."  Likewise, the Soviets admitted Chernobyl after the radiation (unmistakable) had been detected, and further cover-up was impossible.

If the above is true, then my only criticism of China is that they didn’t produce a high quality product. Works only 2% of the time. Shocking.

It would seem to be (not proven) a vaccine-carrier work-in-progress, which escaped before it was sufficiently-benign for vaccine-use, but after it had been adapted to spreading in humans.

Chaining the virus through ferrets is often used for this, as they have the same AE2 receptor we have.   This technique is how the lab-manufacture of a human-transmissible H5N1 virus was accomplished.  This was released in a paper (partially-censored, out of fear terrorists could use the info) causing a scare that caused the USA to broad-ban this type of research.

It was in response to that ban, that two scientists in this field returned to Wuhan - though their published-research was with manufacturing human-transmissible bat-viruses, not H5N1 "flu" viruses.

How Would We KNOW if they WERE?  Is "dear leader" Kim going to be talking about it?  But, in general, a tightly-controlled totalitarian-nation with few visitors from anywhere, is going to fare "better" in this particular situation.

Before the release?  I haven't seen those signs.  If it were intentional, why not release it near where the bats are, to provide a good cover-story?  Right next to the labs studying these types of viruses - far, far away from the bats, in a market with no reports of bats being sold?  Why there?

As to the post-release cover-up, and then taking advantage of the situation after the fact - of course.  No argument there.

Crazy comment, so in your opinion, the world should punish the Chinese population for the wrong doings of their masters.

Should teach them some more manners when at the supermarket. You know, how they put their fingers in the raw meat and then not even buy it.

Yeah I understand and agree with your point. I suppose when half of them want to be 'good citizens' and act/view matters with no deviation from the gov., a resentment of their whole culture/social norms arises. Just, IMO.

I wish these documents can be trusted and believed by anyone who has an open mind and is able to think without bias.

Trust is a bit like beauty, in the eye of the beholder.

The link covered various issues from different sources but the whole collection has been confirmed by the person at the centre, Leo Wanta. He is still alive and been interviewed publicly on a few occasions, you either believe him or you don't.

As you first said, it is all about an open mind, and people should not condemn without considering all potential circumstances.

Churchill realised that China with its huge population, an authoritarian leadership, its production capability, its lust for global power and it's political ambition would one day be a force to be reckoned with and probably feared.

Many believe that he was correct. Coronavirus has helped to reinforce that belief.

China was already a communist country when Churchill issued that warning.

More than China come to mind, and with the ending "should be feared". China is not the greatest subversive entity on the planet.

Yes, and Churchill also died an irredeemable drunk and was a vile racist who was fanatical about violence and imperialism. Not exactly a great person when you examine his life and history with a rational mind.

Winston “"I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes," Churchill. That’s a direct quote. NOBODY should ever look to Churchill as anything other than a complex monster who happened to lead his nation competently, although flawed, through a crisis.  He is not a hero or an inspiration at all. Any historian will tell you this.

Those uncivilised tribes were in the Middle East where poison gas has been used comparatively recently. Look at Iraq and Syria. Their leaders had few qualms about using it against helpless civilians just a few years ago. WC had merely suggested its use.

Churchill also considered using poisoned gas against Germany in 1940 especially as Germany had earlier introduced the use of gas as a weapon in 1915.

When the concentration camps were discovered in 1945 many people wished he had especially Jews and Freemasons.

Chlorine gas and mustard gas were and are chemical weapons. As is the substance that started this corona virus.

As for his being a 'vile racist' it was under his leadership that Britain invited thousands of West Indians and people from the sub continent to come and settle in the UK. Hardly the actions of any kind of racist especially a 'vile' one.

He'd warned of the threat that China might one day represent. It now seems he was right. That does not make him a 'racist'.

lol, I’ll let his history speak for himself. Just because he was I assume, one of your country’s better leaders, doesn’t mean he was this perfect saint. He was absolutely a staunch racist, but he was also a complex human being. Nobody is perfect, but trying to act like he was this great man instead of this complex, larger than life character with serious flaws, is laughable. You are more than welcome to search up some of the quotes he said, and then tell me he wasn’t this awful eugenics-loving drunk. I’m not arguing: I’m telling you. Winston Churchill was a terrible human being, but he was also complex and a good leader. That’s all I’m trying to say.

Does anybody know how many people in China were tested, they don't/didn't report it and was wondering why a country with 1.3 -1.4 Billion people only has 81953 infected and 3,339 deaths, even if they Only  reported tests from the city of Wuhan only which has a population of more then 11 million people (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuhan As of 2015, the city of Wuhan had an estimated population of 10,607,700 people) numbers should be much much higher.....and they are keeping up the usual BS

Class action has been started for 40 countries for trillions of dollars against China for coronavirus negligence.

“The lawyers will argue that Beijing’s negligence and reckless behaviour was so bad that, as with terrorism, the state cannot hide behind sovereign immunity. China will fight it tooth and nail. If proved negligent, it would be catastrophe for them,.“

“Three years ago, this US legal firm won a $1.2 billion (£960 million) case against China over the manufacture of defective building materials.”
