I don't disagree with your sentiment, but good luck in trying to force them to pay, especially since they are in denial and trying to blame others.

Worldwide, effective and enforced sanctions on all Chinese goods would be a useful starting point, if China doesn't comply.

That means all goods, not just the below standard garbage they are flooding the world markets with.

China needs to be drawn into the 21st Century.

When China owns more than 1 Trillion in US Treasury debt....any lawsuit is unlikely to proceed too far before the US quashes it

I still reckon the US started it.

I read that somewhere

The coronavirus traveled from Wuhan around the world, but didn't make it to Beijing or Shanghai ... can anyone explain that?

After all, there are so many questions where it all started. In China, the Chinese stock market didn't collapse, but the American and European markets ... and when these markets collapsed, the Chinese bought big.

All roads lead back to China ...

1. You have created a virus for which you already had an antidote.

2. You deliberately spread the virus for financial gain.

3. There is clear evidence of efficiency ... they built hospitals in a few days. They had to be prepared with the organized projects ... everything went very quickly with the ordering of the equipment, the hiring of workers, the water and sewage network, the prefabricated building materials and the storage in impressive volumes.

4. They caused chaos in the world, starting with Europe and the rest of the western worlds.

5. Quickly decimate the economies of dozens of countries.

6. Stop production and production lines in factories and primary production in dozens of countries.

7. Crash stock markets and then buy stocks, bonds and companies at bargain prices.

8. They then quickly gained control of the epidemic in their country. After all, they were ready and he had never really gotten out of control.

9. They succeeded in lowering the price of basic products, including the oil price.

10. Now they are returning to mass production with the rest of the world stopped.

Also note how quickly Chinese unions have been activated to "hoard" bus freight purchases to regional malls across Australia and clear our shelves of toilet paper and basic groceries. It happened before most of us knew what was happening, before we knew what the corona virus was.

PS: Read Chinese Colonel Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui's 1999 book "Unrestricted War: China's Master Plan to Destroy America" on Amazon. Everything is here.

It's worth thinking ..
Just remember ...

How is it that Russia and North Korea are almost completely free of Covid-19? Because they are strong allies of China. The lowest reported cases of Covid-19 come from these two countries. On the other hand, South Korea / United Kingdom / Italy / Spain and Asia are badly affected. And how is it that Wuhan is suddenly free of the deadly virus?

China will say that its initial drastic measures were very strict and that Wuhan was detained to curb spread to other areas. I am sure that you are using the virus antidote that was available before you released it.

Why wasn't Beijing affected at all?

And another interesting fact ... Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Wuhan at the height of the outbreak ... why did he put on a simple RM1 face mask to visit the affected areas? As President, shouldn't you be covered from head to toe in a hazardous material suit? Perhaps there was nothing to worry about because the antidote had already been injected?

There is no doubt that this is a biological war. And the world will be so different when this crisis calms down. Maybe this is just the first stage ...
And China really takes over the world.

How about this:

$20 trillion lawsuit against China! US group says coronavirus is bioweapon

Coronavirus update: The plaintiffs have sought USD 20 trillion, which is a bigger amount than China's GDP, claiming coronavirus is the result of a biological weapon prepared by the Chinese authorities

https://www.businesstoday.in/current/world/usd-20-trillion-lawsuit-against-china-us-group-says-coronavirus-bioweapon/story/399071.html

Or maybe it was just filthy where it began.

There are many options to "send a message" to China:

- highly restrict imports from China based on health concerns

- discourage businesses from sourcing products from China

- stop university students from China, these are mostly children of the rich and powerful

- restrict visas for Chinese, also will impact the rich and powerful disproportionally

- release more information to the world's media about the terrible situation with the Muslims in China

- release information about the hidden wealth of Xi and other top Commie Party leaders (billions of dollars per a Bloomberg report a few years ago)

- the Nuclear Option (not a bomb), a universal boycott of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics would be the most severe penalty. Massive loss of face to China, massive financial hit and something that could not be hidden from the Chinese people since it's so public. The 2008 Summer Games did so much for China's image in a positive way, a cancelled or greatly diminished 2022 Winter Games would have destroy their image.

The worst thing China did was allow normal travel during Chinese New Year as they definitely knew of the deadly virus by then....had this been stopped the global effect could have been somewhat mitigated. Also they should have allowed USA doctors and scientists to come to China which most certainly would have rung the alarm bells sooner.

and deliberately not preventing all those millions? of their peasants from evacuating the country - under the guise of 'tourists'

pie in the sky, just don't buy chinese goods if you want to punish anybody. i suspect when it is all over it will be business as usual and price will decide your purchases.

This factor of the spread of infectious diseases from one population to another is fascinating because it is also on the list of factors that came together to effect the extinction of the neanderthal species around 40,000 years ago, not accidentally the same period that homo sapiens started moving into western Europe in large numbers.

It is also interesting that Wikipedia accepts the general consensus that the "second" black plague, which hit Europe starting in the middle of the 14th century and kept on sporadically for over 300 years, started in China and spread to Europe along the Silk Road.
