Some foreigners still out drinking on the beach - Thais less than complimentary

Thai media Naew Na published a story that featured some of the main curfew breakers of the first three days who had violated orders to stay home between 10 pm and 4 am.

Virus situation sees encouraging improvement but ‘not statistically satisfactory’

Closure of Pattaya set to begin on Thursday 9 April

Only 200 people to be allowed to enter country each day

The Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement saying not more than 200 people will be allowed to enter the country each day. The statement came after an order that planes would be prohibited from landing until April 18.

38 new Covid-19 cases in a day

The number of Covid-19 patients in the country increased to 2,258, with 38 new cases confirmed over a 24-hour period, Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman for the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said today (April 7).

CP imports first mask-making machine to beat shortages

A group of Thai exchange students, who arrived in Tokyo on April 4th en route to Thailand from the US, are to be further delayed after the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) decided to extend the ban on landing any international flights until April 18th, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 outbreak by overseas arrivals.

Phuket Governor orders ’shut down’ for Chalong, Kathu

Princ Hospital Suvarnabhumi on Bangna-Trat Road has launched free drive-through Covid-19 tests for taxi drivers who live or work in Bang Na, Bang Kaew, Bang Phli, Suvarnabhumi Airport or Samut Prakan province and have been in contact with Covid-19 patients or visitors from high-risk countries.

Despite the invocation of the Emergency Decree and night-time curfew from April 3, people are still found to be violating the orders by going outside their homes, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Tuesday (April 7).

No import duties on virus related goods
