Tim13
There was conflicting info on other posts I've read so hopefully I can clear things up. I just got a 30 day renewal for visa exempt passports (mine is US) at the Bangkok Muong Thong Thani new temporary visa office on Tuesday, 7-April. The new one is called until 7-May. IMPORTANT: They refused taking new applicants at 10:30am. They told them to come back tomorrow. I've attached a sign noting the documents required. This sign was above the immigration officers. An embassy letter was only required if you are trying to get your second execution I was told. No documents such as lease, map, or apartment photos were needed. The only explanation I have for renewal was "cannot get flight back". That seemed to be adequate. I arrived at 6:30, they moved us upstairs into the parking garage at 7:00. At 8:30 they started taking people inside to check their documents. I was out the door by 10am.

Popular Post Chrisroundtheworld
I also did the extension today. Had the embassy letter all the paperwork. Just for everyone's information the new immigration center is technically at the back of the central investigation bureau. You have to take exit 2-12 off the toll road, then the proper right turn (not proposal road but the next right). I arrived at 6:05 am. Roughly 80 people were in front of me. At 6:10am I was moved to seating on the second story of the parking garage. By around 8:15-830am they gave me a yellow sticker and the form you fill out there (bring a pen). They also have food to the left, and they can do photos for 100 baht (4 photos it said) and 5 baht for a photo copy. It wasn't until about 9am that they actually started bringing people down into the actual bureau in the next building. I got my ticket, number 70ish at 9:20am, then after about 5-10 minutes was brought down in single file manner to the bureau where 12 different stations were processing people's passports. They aren't using hand santizers at the desks, and everyone is using the same pens, multiple officers touch everyone's documents multiple times. So yeah, great way to make sure everyone's hand germs are spread around. Bring your own hand sanitizer FYI. At about 10:10am I got my passport back. So, today (being the 7th), the stamp read come back May 5th. I asked the woman who processed my passport she said come back in may 5th. I also asked her if there would potentially be amnesty in the future. She said she didn't know. I also asked her about people that arrived after March 1st, she said they still have to come in to extend. Anyway, arrived at 6:05am, got passport at 10:10am. 1
