Could be career ending or even worse life threatening.

Corruption prevents civil servants from applying the law without favor, preferential treatment or fear of reprisal. Sadly, the good servants of the people are often the victims of this dysfunctional system. Reform is hindered by those whose have the power and who enrich themselves with the status quo.
