Popular Post Mob4
After spending nearly 7 hours with a bunch of fellow sufferers in the queue in the Hua Hin Immigration office i finally got my COVID-19 tourist visa extension for... only 3 weeks till April 29. On the question what i supposed to do when this extension will expire i was told that further extension is still under consideration and i'll need to come again on April 29 with my passport and they can tell me nothing more at the moment. Here's what documents i had: Yeah, post about 9 separated documents was not a joke and each of these 9 documents should have second copy. Even Embassy letter. - Two passport size photos. - Two copies of each of these passport pages: Main page with photo, TM6 card, Visa page, Stamps . - Embassy letter + copy (I got mine letter on email from Embassy) - Extension application form + copy (you supposed to fill both of them) - House Lease Agreement + copy (My rent contract had 17 pages and i thought it was way too much paper to make second copy of all of it and at the end of the day they send me to the nearest print office to make second copy of each page ????♂️) - Owner's House book two copies - Owner's ID card two copies - House book of rented house two copies - Map of house location two copies (i just opened google maps found my house and made a screenshot & printed it in color) - 1900 baht Extension process: I've arrived at 8:15 AM and there was a lot of people in the queue already. After around one hour and half i made it to the table with two immigration workers they checked my documents, gave me two application forms and a queue number. There were more than 34 people in front of me but they had different visas and different type of extensions so there was two different queues. After that there were another 4 hours of pleasant waiting especially after announcement at 12PM that all officers are leaving to have lunch and will come back at 1:30 PM... At 2:00 PM i was invited on the second floor where i've spent another 45 minutes before my number was called and then i was requested to sign every single document that i brought with me and after i did it, finally my docs were accepted. I paid 1900 and received my passport with extension stamp after 15 minutes. Hope this info was helpful for someone. I was gonna say "Stay Safe" but if you are about to go to the immigration office... Just Good Luck! Edited April 8, 2020 by Mob4 1 2
sallecc
Glad you pulled it off man, I followed your previous thread. Not sure should I congratulate or feel pity, because just tonight government officially declared automatic extension for most visitors... Now question is, do you still need to go there on 29th? It's absolute disgrace what they did to stranded visitors in past few weeks... When all other countries (including mine) simply and promptly declared automatic visa extension, here they delayed it for weeks, forcing dozens of thousands of visitors into crowded offices, knowingly exposing them to risk. (I see Matzzon is laughing at your post... classy and compassionate, as always) Cheers, Alex
jimmjam
If this automatic extension is rolled over until may, i dont think you would need to go as you have extended already. Wait until the next announcement to see if its going to be extended again until may.

Tricky thing is that stamp is not actual extension, it's 'under consideration' and 'must contact in person on 29th'... Anyway I'm sure OP will follow reports from others who will deal with it earlier (Zikomat is 'under consideration' on 23rd and he said he will contact them in advance).

Under consideration will pobably need a return to immigration.
natway09
Why did you not get home as soon as you saw the writing on the wall ?

I don't think a trip to immigration will be needed. The intent of the order was to keep people from needing to go to immigration. I suspect if somebody goes to immigration they will send you away tell you it is not needed. I also suspect the approvals of the applications are no longer being processed now. Hopefully for guys in your situation and fella you quoted, will see another announcement to extend this through May.
