Popular Post webfact
Pattaya: Immigration gets its act together - finally! Chonburi's immigration department has finally got its Covid-19 act together, at least so far as social distancing is concerned. The news comes as Pattaya is locked down anyway. After days of overcrowding and fears that the virus could be easily spread by visitors to immigration being crammed together, Pattaya's office in Jomtien looked like a sea of order and calm yesterday. People were sat appropriately apart and there was a reasonable distance between people standing. A roped off queueing system adopted in busy places had been instigated, as evidenced by a 77kaoded story. All visitors are asked to wear masks when visiting immigration. Pattaya is locked down from today with strict rules about who can go in and out. Popular Post johng
Would be better if no one had to go to to immigration offices at the moment..declare a moratorium on visa issues until the state of emergency ends and the situation improves.

I've never found it a major issue pre Covid for Annual Extension of Stay Renewal, 90 Day report or Re-entry. Tuesday-Thursday mid mornings or mid-afternoons are normally the quietest times. 1 1
Popular Post sapson
Fantastic something sensible at last..................clearly the peasants are revolting and only a few attending! Long live the rebellion.................. embassy letters, landlords having to attend, requiring your old school reports etc will be but a distant memory in the new climate of compassion reason and common sense. Within a couple of weeks immigration offices will close their doors entirely everything suspended until the pandemic is fully under control. AAAH...but that,s logical and they don,t do logic here.......the big chiefs in BKK does not want falang,s here at all......it would be preferable if all falangs on entering the country would deposit their wallets in the bins provided at the airport, turn round and return home on the same flight.....to those resident here on long term visas (me for one) do not expect any help/understanding or sympathy from any government officials during the course of your stay.....
JusticeGB
Wonderful on the day before the suspension of the need to report every 90 days and the automatic renewal of Visas for people whose Visas have run out because they can't leave the country, yet alone Pattaya!
thaibeachlovers
Don't understand why a q at all. If the banks can have a machine that gives a q number and people sit down to wait, why can't immigration? Is that too simple for them to accept? It's as bad as the UK. There is no way I could have q for 3 hours- legs wouldn't have lasted and need to go to bathroom frequently. Even in Chiang Mai they give out q numbers and people go to desk when number called and on a sign. I thought Pattaya was more switched on for farangs than the chaos that was seen. Immigration would remain open for victims even with a nuclear holocaust or a zombie apocalypse.

You used to get given a queue number at the front desk depending on which desk you needed to go to and then queue numbers are called so not sure what you are referring to? The issue was purely the huge numbers of people and where they waited.

Good post, I'm sure the officers working in those conditions felt just the same as the applicants. They were just turning up to do a days work in difficult circumstances as laid down by the hierarchy. I'm sure they wanted something else to happen just as fast.

a977
Now to clean up the riders and passengers on bikes, it is literally impossible to ride 2 (let alone 3,4,5) on a bike with 1.5 - 2 metres separation. And they blame us farangs for not wearing face masks and threaten violence
