One patent that I'd love to see make it into production is Yamaha's seamless transmission (not from this video). Something that normally is a super tight kept secret in MotoGP realms. Suzuki has also patented a design for variable valves via a centrifugal mechanism which seems to be much better than what BMW or Honda have done in the past.
