Two Chinese nationals have been arrested for illegal hoarding of sanitary face masks, Immigration Police said on Thursday (April 9).

“The police acted on a tip-off that Chinese nationals were illegally selling face masks – which were probably manufactured in Chon Buri’s Banglamung district – from their Bangkok office,” Immigration Police Chief Pol Lt-General Sompong Chingduang said.

Police raided a commercial building on Pracharat Bamphen Road in Bangkok’s Huay Kwang district and found boxes of sanitary face masks and portable temperature scanners. The owner of the building is a Chinese national named Liáng, aged 30.

The raid came after police followed a car from the building to a hotel on Jomtien Beach Road in Chon Buri’s Banglamung district. They detained the driver, who was identified as Chinese national named Hé, aged 38. Hé reportedly confessed that he used the hotel’s storage room to store the boxes of face masks. Police reportedly found 510 empty boxes and 62,400 face masks in the room, as well as three posters advertising the products.

The two Chinese were charged with operating without work permits and hoarding controlled products (face masks) under Prices of Goods and Services Act.

You know, I'm becoming more and more, pi**ed off with the Chinese who caused this freaking Coronavirus. As for these two, bung them in prison to mingle with infected Thais. That'll be fair compensation for hoarding and selling face masks.

Until I see a photo of at least 3 police pointing at piles of masks, I won't believe this!
