Worldplus
Will there be a beer ban this next week or ten days in Pattaya over the cancelled songkran period??
steven100
One would expect so, although it hasn't been announced for Pattaya specifically.
Popular Post LennyW
Highly likely, many provinces already completely banned alcohol sales. 4

Moonlover
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the whole nation is subject to an alcohol ban within the next couple of days. You read it here first. ????

Why would you think it will be extended beyond 20 April? The purpose of the ban is try and stop people partying over Songkran. 1

Yes, but the mom and pop stores usually carry limited stock as they don't have the money to buy much. Last night went to Makro and GF's sister asked us to buy her 4 cases of beer for her small store. Probably will last about 3 days. Question is will the mom and pop store be able to restock from wholesalers during the ban? 4

Thanks. Went to get coffee at my local 7-11 here in Hua hin just now and the shelves behind the counter where they keep the wines and whiskeys etc. were empty. Either mass panic buying last night or removal of stock for the ban. 2

However, I prefer to choose when to abstain, as opposed to being told to by silly authorities, who use Covid-19 as a pathetic excuse to ban alcohol sales. If anything, a lot of people will have bought excessive amounts before a ban is enforced, and will drink more than they normally do ! 8

Henryford
I went to my local alcohol shop last night at 5pm. There was a rush of people buying beer/spirits in bulk. If you haven't stocked up expect a dry 10 days. Edited April 10, 2020 by Henryford
