Daily News reported that the Pattaya police chief and a large contingent of Chonburi officers raided a gambling den above the well known Fu Man Lou Chinese restaurant near the Alcazar Cabaret in Pattaya last night.

In an upstairs video karaoke room they found ten gamblers playing the Thai card game "Pok Deng".

Some 100,000 baht in chips was taken into evidence along with cards and other equipment.

Arrested were seven Chinese men, two Thai women and a Russian woman.

The den was being run by Beijing H., 50, who is the owner of the restaurant.

Everyone was booked for gambling and contravening the Covid-19 regulations on gathering.

Daily News slammed the gamblers in their headline for their reckless behavior amid Pattaya's lockdown.

Jackpot! what's gambling den with no cash? why there's no mention of the cash that was there?...

How much does that have to do with 10 irresponsible players and a moronic gambling den and restaurant owner who is breaking the law? I am sure they can both handle and book the money they found too. Why the need to look down on people when they do a good job?

What no dirty farangs?

No, those were lurking in a shady beer bar, scandalously spreading all manner of diseases with a surreptitious game of Connect Four.

7 Chinese , oH Dear.....

And yes, when the virus scare is over this figure could be thousands of gamblers in "official" casinos. Perhaps the Chinese owner was in the process of trying to get his first foot on the ladder!

In case anyone is wondering I have eaten there and was not impressed. Maybe the restaurant was a front for the real business eh?

Next time, be sure to ask for the upstairs special.  ????
