Earlier i cycled from Pattaya over the railway line, no stops or checkpoints as expected. At least a bonus day for cycling

I cycled this Easter Sunday on Huay Yai from Sukhumvit on. There are some major cement blockades. You cannot turn right onto Sukhumvit at the end of Huay Yai (left turn only), and there are similar blockades on Sukhumvit turning right onto Hauy Yai. As well, there is what looks like a baby BiB tent that will grow into a full blown checkpoint by the 14th.

This was just posted a few minutes ago on the PR Pattaya page:

There are more images in the post but basically all they are are close-ups of each intersection with arrows showing how they will send some traffic back the way it came it seems.

According to the PR Pattaya facebook page. Note the start time (tonight at 22:00) - (I did the bold and underlining below).

"Start the screening point in-out of cuddle pattaya to prevent coviral epidemic-19 by Sunday, April 12 at 22.00 pm. Cones and tents will be carried out after Monday, April 13, 2563, traffic system will be tested before the actual action will be started soon for the entrance screening point "

I'm guess they are using Google translate. It's hilarious because when I right-click on the English text it asks me if I want to translate it into English !

So it sounds like they are going to start this tonight (lighter traffic then) and put up some cones and tents tomorrow sometime.

And this will help traffic?

Hardly.

A real good reason not to go anywhere.

This NOT designed to help traffic. It's designed to restrict movement of traffic, people and Covid19.

As you said, IT'S A REAL GOOD REASON NOT TO GO ANYWHERE.

So they are going to block off every little Soi leading into Pattaya?.....I think not.......A huge effort and for what?......

Stick to the Covid-19 street washing......At least it cleans the streets....

My Yellow Book address is on Soi Siam Country Club.

I reside now at MaxxCity, Soi Arunthai.

Somewhere end of this month, I will move in again to my Yellow Book address.

So from Pattaya to the Dark Side.

Carrying my passport, pink ID card, Yellow Book, I don't expect any problem at the checkpoint.

Or does I am too optimist ?
