Krabi drinking party raided by police

Recommended Posts

Maybe that bucket of ice made the situation worse for them. The BiB may have thought they were going to start a songkran party...You never know .....

So, how long they will stay in prison?

1-3 months in similar cases last week, always a option B possible

The sale of alcohol is banned. No mention of consumption.

The original link actually wrote 'drinking' 2 times, and the word 'alcohol' 2 times.

Pretty much the same here.

The neighbours have guests every day and sit outside drinking wine. Further along the road, the locals sit outside drinking beers and eating together.

What alcohol ban? What "social gathering"?

But:

Why is this a "public gathering"?

A few friends together.

sounds like a private residence but they are trying to word it as outside - so a public place - very questionable

Krabi: Scandinavian pensioners/Thai women arrested for contravening emergency decree at house drinks party

The Ao Nang police chief Pol Col Apichart Jinapen sent in his men after he got a tip that a group of foreigners and Thai women were enjoying themselves in the garden of a house having a drinks party.

Plenty of evidence in the form of beer and spirits and mixers was discovered.

Eight people were taken in to face charges of contravening the emergency decree rules on congregating.

Naew Na said there were five Thai women and three foreigners. They then listed the names of four Thai women and four Scandinavians.

The Thai women were aged 28,39, and two of 45. The foreigners were Norwegians aged 62 and 63 and Swedes aged 65 and 74.
