The ban was originally scheduled to be lifted on Wednesday. The province has also banned the entry of fishing boats from other parts of the country, unless there is an emergency such as accident or engine failure. Piroon said the province is evaluating the situation on a day-to-day basis to seek ways of easing problems faced by local residents. As of Wednesday, Rayong had six confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection, though five have fully recovered while one is on the way to full recovery, the provincial public health officer Dr Suntorn Rianbhumkarakit said.
