Two men died and a third was seriously injured after a ten wheel truck failed to negotiate a bend on the Thoen to Thungsaliam Road in Thoen district of Lampang in Thailand northern region late yesterday morning.

Dead at the scene were Khanit, 48, from Phayao and driver Wichai, 47, whose hometown was unknown.

Forty three year old Nopparat from Lamphun was rushed to Thoen Hospital after being found alive.

Ceramic tiles were found strewn over the road. The truck had smashed through a barrier on a bend.

The truck was on its way from Saraburi to a wholesaler in Thoen.

look! signs of normal Thai life beyond the virus!

I'm sure they will lift the lock down soon!

The only reason this is "signs of life" ie "News", is because these unfortunate souls died doing what they do every day. Much of life has continued in a near "normal" fashion here in the north (as I'm sure elsewhere) simply because of the "need to work or starve" fact of life. I sincerely hope that the preservation of life will continue to be the over-riding factor, but life will go on "normally" because people need to feed themselves and their families, regardless of any "country wide proclamations" Or, 5000 baht offerings that didn't pan out!

Is this the new normal?

why doesn’t TV post daily driving accident/fatality reports like they do with CV?

CV is now up to 2/3 of a Single day on Thai roads....

the gov does zero proper intervention to reduce road fatalities yet closes tennis golf and parks which would have no impact on these minuscule CV numbers...
