PHUKET: Two foreigners and two Thai nationals have been charged with trespass and breach of the Computer Crimes Act for entering Phuket Zoo allegedly without permission and posting online claims that animals at the zoo had been abandoned, and for setting up an account to receive donation to collect money to feed the animals.

Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Rungrote Thakurapunyasiri speaking at Chalong Police Station, where the four were charged today (Apr 23), named the four as Australian Minh N., American Joy M. and Thai nationals Hussein A. and Hassun K.

Gen Rungrote alleged that on Apr 14, at about 6pm, Hassan climbed the wall into Phuket Zoo. He recorded a video in the zoo and narrated that the zoo owner had abandoned the animals.

Wait for the ‘go fund me page’.

Oh dear, there’s a price to pay for being arrogant and stupid in this part of the world.

These clowns are headed for The Monkey House.

According to the story, they've already left the Monkey House.

There is a Gofundme page already and so far over 45K dollars destined for his personal account. Its a scam obviously.

Only if the animals were being well looked after. Are they? Small zoos with animals that need meat are a very bad idea at the best of times. Large ones with animals that can eat grass and live a semblance of normal life are the best.

How do you know, that the animals are not taken care of?

Properly are the animals taken care of as usual....We are just dealing with idiots trying to fool people into donating money....I hope they will be spending long time in the "monkey house".
