The last of three inmates who had broken out of Khao Mai Kaeo Prison in Rayong province on April 22 was arrested on Sunday when he was caught hiding in a village storehouse.

Rattanaphon Wongsuwan, 33, who is serving a sentence of five years and seven months for drug use, was hiding in a village in Chumsaeng subdistrict but was spotted by the village headman who notified the police.

Officers from Wang Chan Police Station surrounded a storehouse where he was hiding and arrested him.

Rattanaphon said that he had been hiding on a hill near the village but felt very hungry. When he saw a storehouse guard, he decided to ask for food but was refused so he sneaked into the storehouse and hid there.

He was one of three inmates who had broken out of prison. Two of them, Manat Suwichai, 27, sentenced to four years and two months for murder, and Worachit Klaisuwan, 22, sentenced to three years on drug use charges, had already been arrested.
