Depends upon what prey you are after. Many ladyboys enjoy a nice Leo now and again.

I can see this happening - social distancing wont be an issue as stores will only be able to sell limited stock, which will run out in 30 minutes

About 5% of the people will get lucky in buying it I expect, similar to the 5000 baht scheme

Yes, I understand the reasoning, here, but don't quite "get" the TIMING...

(a) we still don't know whether May public holidays, including that on Friday (Labor Day), are going to be cancelled (to encourage continued social distancing), and

(b) why just TWO days duration (maximum panic buying, minimum social distancing)? Authoritarian muscle flexing??

Liver applauding, but brain leans towards conjecture when in need of a beer!!

Public holidays have not been canceled accoprding to reports in todays news papers.

When you are finished with a trolley cart tradition dictates it should be disposed of in the nearest river or canal.

I do hope you will respect this long established custom.

Or paint it green and fill it with potted plants.

But  "many more" people are still  congregating at every street market in East Pattaya  and have done since the start of this virus...So why the ban?

Thais do what they want

The main reason for the ban is not simply to prevent socialising. 40% of hospital A&E cases before the ban were related to alcohol. This is now down to 15%.

Banning alcohol frees up much needed healthcare staff and beds for Coronavirus. Despite what the government says Coronavirus is ripping through Thailand. Daily death rates in April 2020 are almost 3 times the norm. In April 2013-18 it ran at 400 per day. In April 2020 its running at 1300 per day which is 900 more than they would expect. The official figures are kept low to prevent social unrest.

Expect the heavy ban to last well into the summer/autumn but it may be partially lifted for a few days to allow you to stock up. However the days of constant binge drinking are over and this will probably be the new norm going forwards.

Good God!

You should join the samaritans if this uplifting epistle is anything to go by!

thanks buddy.  not a regular drinker but am going to make an order

I think I have never drank more regularly since the government said I couldn't do it

You are not alone in that.  That is why its  such a stupid idea, making people buy loads of booze on the off chance that it will be restricted for a long time.  All done for the benefit of the industry, not the people.

There is NO ban on consumption. Simply a ban on purchasing.

This is the same for "normal" days when no alcohol can be purchased. Mother's Day etc..

You might be lucky to get away with some serious scowls if you are seen drinking in public nowadays, might even get you an invitation to the local cop shop.
