webfact
SRT resumes services on eight routes to reduce crowd By THE NATION State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will resume services on some train routes after most of the services were shut down to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as per the government’s policies, SRT governor Nirut Maneephan said. “Currently there are only 12 trains running to northern and eastern provinces, making the platforms and trains crowded, as a result SRT is unable to enforce social distancing,” he said. “The SRT therefore has decided to add eight more trains to selected destinations from April 28 [Tuesday] to facilitate commuters' travel and enhance efficiency in Covid-19 prevention.” Train No 317 Bangkok-Lopburi started running from Tuesday.
