webfact
Flouting the rules? Foreigners pictured kitesurfing in Krabi Picture: Naew Na Thai media posed the question as to whether a group of foreigners doing kitesurfing in Krabi were breaking the strict Coviod-19 regulations. This came after a sneaky post was made by someone on Facebook. Picture: Naew Na It showed a group of foreigners in a boat called Tango 5 near Koh Nok. The poster wondered if this was illegal. They often saw this activity, they said. DirtyHarry55
See some Thai doing this just a few days ago bet if I get my big telephoto lens out and get some pics it won't make the news. Does Krabi have an Oil Rig?
steelepulse
I saw 6 people kiting yesterday in Chalong Bay. Perfect conditions for kiting, and at least 100 metres between each person. I asked the wife if I could go paddling and she seemed to think it wasn't a good idea. I wonder if the bib considers water front, but not a sandy beach, to be " a closed beach"?
Popular Post spidermike007
How is kitesurfing not engaging in social distancing? How is this endangering anyone? The amount of sheer ignorance, fear mongering, and bad information out there is astonishing. It feels as if Covid is diminishing mankind, and showing it at it's worst. 22 1

kamahele
The kite surfing is a great example of social distancing, however the three guys next to each other in the boat without protective masks isn't. This is kind of a non story....

Popular Post Tropposurfer
Banning use of the ocean during this virus is ridiculous. If densely populated areas and crowded beaches, then yes of course banning beach use may have been necessary as in the case of massed idiocy with nighttime gathering at Patong on the beach at night and drinking but if social distancing is observed then swimming/kiting as this man is doing poses no risk to others as salt water is a very strong antiseptic and bug killer (the boat and other people is an issue though - unless they are family he lives with). Of course forbid all food and drinks stalls or other businesses at beaches. Police using all the lounging city employees and volunteers to enforce distancing by warm friendly encouragement as they have done in Sweden not via threat and punishment as Thai and many other nations have done. I'm personally fed up with the ridiculous over reaction (yes you read right) in this regard. Closing of beaches without more concerted efforts to encourage distancing, and to keep them closed for so long is inane.

The best thing you can do because its not allowed to be on the beach. Support the girls and do some home exercise. Its much safer because you avoid the dangerous beach 555

Closing of beaches without more concerted efforts to encourage distancing, and to keep them closed for so long is inane. Absolutely spot on. The over reaction to this thing is ridiculous. It is as if many are disappointed the zombie apocalypse has NOT happened. It is over here. The curve has more than flattened. Yet, some of my friends argue that by allowing restaurants to re-open, the administration is committing murder. How inane. How silly. How churlish. This is NOT an airborne virus, or poison similar in nature to Anthrax. It is communicated through relatively heavy droplets, which do not remain suspended in the air for long. There is so much ignorance surrounding this disease. Thailand and South Africa are the only two nations on earth with a ban on alcohol. That is how bizarre and stupid all of this has become. During times like this people need recreation. All parks, oceans, beaches, and public spaces should be reopened immediately. We need them. We can practice safe distancing. Give us a chance to be humans again. Let us enjoy, and get on with our lives. Edited May 1, 2020 by spidermike007 2
